So, we launched a new line of snack bars called The Only Bar.
It’s not a protein bar. It’s more of an indulgent snack.
Some people thought this was a mistake.
Why would a plant protein company launch a bar that isn’t a protein bar?
So many reasons.
You see, we always viewed Truvani as a lifestyle company. Sure, some fitness enthusiasts love us, but the vast majority of our market are normal everyday people trying to make better, healthier, cleaner decisions about the food they consume.
It’s not just about protein. Sometimes it’s about a snack with great ingredients you feel confident to eat yourself and give to your kid.
(My 5 year old calls these bars the daddy bar. She’s one of my top saleswomen!)
So, our bet was: people want an indulgent snack and so far our bet seems to be paying off.
We launched recently at a national grocery store and we just got word: we are on track to move more than 100,000 bars in a single month.
Not bad for something so new to the market.
The launch went so well that I expect Truvani to become one of the biggest bar companies in the USA.
Why is it doing so well?
Well… they taste great.
We have tried so many variations of our bar before we commit to production. And we are ruthless.
Yes, people want great ingredients. But they don’t want something that tastes bad. So taste is paramount.
Also, we believe people like what we stand for as a company. Our ingredient label is clean as can be.
The moral of the story: when you feel like you need to pursue something… do it. Even if other people don’t understand.

I’ve read 200 books on business.
I would’ve saved myself years of time if I just understood these principles instead:
Lateral Thinking
If you think like everyone else does, you'll never outperform.
Optimize your life for alternative perspectives:
• Try new hobbies
• Have people tear down your ideas
• Go to talks away outside your domain
And you'll think from scratch like a child again.
The 3 Ts
Time, tenacity, and timing:
3 factors that determine 99% of your success.
Stick with something long enough, keep iterating based on data and failure is near impossible.
People always overcomplicate success.
It's because they can't accept that it could be that simple.
Love the Problem
If you don't have a 'why' that ignites you, it becomes impossible to get out of bed when things get tough.
Have you, or a loved one, deeply confronted the problem you're solving?
If not, starting a business reduces to a glorified job.
Love the Customer
You know nothing.
Your customer knows everything.
Assume they're 10x smarter than you - and aim to please them at every turn.
Because ultimately, it's your customer who decides whether you retire rich or poor.
Make Something People Want
Don't build a business unless you, or someone you're close to, has directly faced the problem you're solving.
Building without validating demand is like sailing without a compass.
You might move, but you're likely lost.
Diversify your Learning
Ever noticed how the most successful have weird interests?
• Warren Buffet: Playing the ukulele
• Sam Altman: Bronze Age weaponry
• Mark Zuckerberg: Hunting and killing his own food
Innovation stems from perspectives the conventional can't generate.
Be Able to Get into Deep Work
My deep work stack:
• DND
• Brain. fm
• Noise-cancelling headphones
Work like a lion for 4 hours instead of grazing like a cow for 12.
Be Antifragile
Entrepreneurship's not easy on the psyche - your emotions get taken for a multi-year rollercoaster.
My antifragile toolkit:
• Journalling
• Meditation
• Gratitude
Cultivate stoicism: it's armor for the battles in your mind.
Be a Contrarian
Everyone who's achieved outsized results has to, by definition, have defied convention at some point.
They're called crazy - until they're right.
So always question what you're told.
Swimming against the tide might find you treasures in the depths.
Echo Chambers Limit Growth
Surrounded by people who always agree with you?
You're in a comfort zone.
And no growth ever happens in a comfort zone.
Embrace disagreement - you never truly understand something until you can hold two precisely opposite points of view on it.
Travel
The more you travel, the more you realize how small you are.
And how many different opinions, ways of life and problems exist in the world.
That's the first step to shedding your ego.
Travel isn't about seeing new places - it's about seeing new things within yourself.

I recently sold my company, AdSkills, after having made $4.8mil.
Here’s the twist tho…
I did it by getting other experts to give me their courses.
Which meant, I didn’t have to be the expert or even be on camera.
I got the idea for this after trying to sell my course business in 2021, but no one would buy it since I was the sole expert.
I was on every course, every webinar, every email. It was an unsellable business, because “I” was the business.
After I pivoted, I was finally able to get my life back. Sell my company and I even bought a piece of land.
I call this new course business model “knowledge networks.” It’s same model that Skillshare and Masterclass use.
Same model Lynda DOT com used before they sold for over $1bil to LinkedIn.
I’ve got a video case study of how I did all of this. I’ve even interviewed other founders who’ve used this model.
It’s all free, don’t need your money.
Just leave a comment and my assistant will DM you a link. Be patient though as we’re only allowed to send so many DMs per day.
✌️❤️
P.S. why not just share the link here? Because they shadowban any posts that take you off the platform, but they love seeing comments so… 🤷♂️
