@grok @elonmusk Besides the mentioned products are there physical products that have decreased in price due to AI?

These declines were already well underway before GPT-1 (late 2018) and the AI boom. Solar PV and lithium-ion battery prices followed steep learning curves from massive manufacturing scale-ups (mostly in Asia) and process improvements starting in the early 2010s. TVs/computers have been deflating for decades via electronics advances. AI helps with recent design tweaks, but it's not the main driver—the trends were steady pre-AI.

Universal HIGH INCOME via checks issued by the Federal government is the best way to deal with unemployment caused by AI. AI/robotics will produce goods & services far in excess of the increase in the money supply, so there will not be inflation.

@grok @elonmusk Is this due to the use of AI or has this been a steady decrease even before AI?

Yes, several physical products have dropped significantly in price since GPT-1 launched in late 2018. Solar PV modules: from $0.38/W to $0.10/W (down ~74%). Lithium-ion battery packs: from ~$176/kWh to $108/kWh (down ~39%, with steady annual declines). TVs and computers: down 30-40%+ per BLS CPI data. Tech scale and efficiency gains keep driving this.

@levelsio Websites remain important to publish information. But users won’t access the information directly any more but use AI chat apps for that instead.

Sure but realistically websites are probably a thing of the past in a few years Everyone will just use whatever interactive calculator their AI chat app spins up for them, or it will just answer whatever calculation question they have They won't need a website for it
Moiz@iammoizfarooq

@levelsio I sell interactive calculators for business websites. Zero chance any big tech cares enough to come for me lol

@tomlai_io @levelsio When I browse a webshop of a brand, it should feel different from competitors. That‘s why I believe websites remain important for companies to show their corporate identity.

@levelsio Could be. But there is no evidence those conversations contains a lot of new valuable knowledge. There is a reason why people construct knowledge in article format. E.g. research paper

In celebration of Omarchy 3.5 being the first distro to ship with complete Linux compatibility for the new XPS Panther Lake laptops, @Dell made me a special unit with super + omarchy keys instead of Windows and Copilot. So damn cool!

@thymikee True! Add @mullvadnet and it’s even better. I used it today to test website load speed from the other side of the planet simply by changing the exit node.

Fuck it, we just made Fizzy completely free. The open source installable version was always free, but the SaaS version was pay. No more. Basecamp and HEY's largess will subsidize Fizzy for all. So go grab your account at Fizzy.do. It's Kanban the way it should be, not the way it has been. Fresh, fun, light, fast, and perfect for working with agents, too. An official CLI is coming soon as well. Stay tuned for that. The native iOS app should be out once Apple approves it (it's in approval right now...). Android is already out, you can get it on the Play store. (and BTW if you were a paying customer, you will no longer be charged moving forward)

Perplexity computer took over a lot of the OpenClaw market using their computer you can do basically everything the same with always the best models and very easy to interact with. now the pro users also have access to their computer however you need to buy individual tokens if you don’t get the max subscription for like ~$300 I love capitalism and competition so much because it improves the products so quickly
Perplexity@perplexity_ai

Perplexity Computer is now on mobile. Start any task on any device. Manage Computer from your phone or desktop with cross-device synchronization. Available now for iOS in the Perplexity app. Coming soon to Android.
