Here's a way better way to buy a house than getting a bank mortgage. Instead of putting a big down payment, take that money and invest it in great stocks for 10 years. During that time, rent a place to stay. For anyone who thinks you're throwing money away by renting, keep in mind that almost the entire mortgage payment you pay during that time is going to the bank's interest, not the principal. Your rent will probably be less than your mortgage payment + property tax + repairs. So use that extra money to buy more stocks. After 10 years, take a loan out against your stock portfolio and buy your house in cash. You will now own the house outright and have the deed - unlike getting a mortgage, where the bank holds the deed. Your loan rate will be WAY lower than a mortgage rate because it's secured by your stock portfolio. Also, you don't have to pay back the loan on a monthly schedule. You can pay it back at your own pace, or don't pay it back and let the interest accrue on the loan. You never have to worry about the bank taking your house if you miss a few mortgage payments like a bank loan. After it's all done, you own a house outright with a loan to yourself, and you never sold your stock portfolio, which keeps appreciating. BTW, that's exactly what I did.

@BlazersLead It doesn’t “need” the renovated but owners these days “want” premium seating and amenities to get people to come and spend money to increase their profits.

From everything being thrown around about these stadium renovations, I haven't seen a reporter or politician actually point out a specific thing that is wrong with the Moda Center as a reason why it needs to be renovated right now I get that the lease is expiring and someone needs to foot the bill for renovations eventually, particularly to appease Tom Dundon, but by my accounts and experiences this year Moda seems to be thriving with lots of cool restaurants and activities inside If the issue is it's not as luxurious as other arenas around the country and it's simply just lackluster by comparison, then I personally don't see the reason for all the fuss and feel like this doesn't need to be handled with this level of urgency

@JD_9005 @Michellek4040 I don’t think they fumbled it. The NFL is business and wants to grow their brand internationally. 9 international games next year. Choosing Bad Bunny, an international superstar for a game that has a world -wide audience was a no brainer.

@BigTenTed I don’t know that he offered them starting jobs or not but most of these guys in the portal from Oregon are certainly better than what is on the cal roster. A huge eyebrow raise from me was when Kingston Lopa entered the portal and committed to Cal before Orange bowl prep and DNP

My theory - Tosh Lupoi was offering some starting jobs behind the scenes to a lot of the depth on Oregon's defense. We'll see if it plays out that way. Regardless, Ducks are being gutted on the DL.
