In April 2024, William Georgitis was attacked by a massive alligator in the Cooper River while fossil hunting. The alligator clamped onto William's arm, prompting him to attempt to restrain the creature by bear hugging it, preventing it from death rolling.
He then used a screwdriver to stab the alligator in the eye, causing it to drag him underwater for about 50 feet.
While pinned against the riverbed, William tried to stab the alligator again but only managed to strike its gums. This action caused the alligator to shake him once more.
Running out of air, William believed he was going to die. In a desperate attempt to survive, he tried to twist his arm off while it was still in the alligator's mouth, hoping to swim to the surface.
Miraculously, this worked, and as he reached the surface, he realized his arm was still partially attached.
He was pulled into a nearby boat and rushed to the hospital. Despite the severity of his injuries, doctors were able to reattach his arm.

NEW: Man filmed dancing just moments before he blew his head up after placing a firework on his hat during 4th of July celebrations.
South Carolina man Allen Ray McGrew passed on Thursday in a tragic firework accident.
The 41-year-old reportedly placed a firework on top of his hat which blew up, immediately ending his life.
"I thought he was just showboating... I didn’t realize he had already lit it," his wife told the NYP.
"He loved this country and looked forward to celebrating every year."
"Just before the incident happened, he hugged me and his son and said, 'You are my rock, and you are my heart.' Me being his rock and his son being his heart."

This seemingly normal footage depicts 41-year-old Allen Ray McGrew in his final moments. Shortly after the video was captured, McGrew put a large firework on top of his hat and ignited it, leading to a fatal explosion.
McGrew was dressed up as Uncle Sam to celebrate 4th of July at a neighborhood block party in Summerville, Dorchester County.
Deputies discovered McGrew's lifeless body in the road after they rushed to the scene following the sudden end of the party.
