Same idea in PBIR CLI, developed by @kurtbuhler and myself. When AI creates or changes a visual, it gets immediate feedback: Too small? Too large? Overlapping?

pbir-cli v0.9.25 is out. pbir-cli version 0.9.24 is out! Refresh or screenshot the Power BI Desktop canvas, support for thick reports and local model validation/queries, and some nice performance improvements. uv tool install --upgrade pbir-cli

But in the era of AI, where everyone is pressured to increase efficiency, I do think there will be a strong push toward more efficient and more purpose-built analytical web apps. That freedom also means you now own the mess.

And is Power BI going anywhere? Not in the short term. Power BI still has years of governance around it. Users have muscle memory. Admin teams know how to manage it. Companies already built entire operations around it.

Power BI was more or less a unified experience for using reports. Slicers, filters, drill-through, cross-highlighting, bookmarks, pages. Even with all the hacks the community developed, the core mental model stayed the same. You learn it once, then use it across most reports.
