@sparklingruby We have to ask "why are people are stealing these items?" to uncover the core problem.

I am extremely disturbed by what I witnessed in Lower Manhattan last night. I lived on Wall Street for years - directly across from The NYSE. Last night - I went to grab a few items at Rite Aid - only to find out that almost everything was behind a lock. I asked an employee how often things are stolen from the store. He said - every day. Numerous times a day. I was shocked. Next - the employee told me that even when they catch a criminal - they can’t do anything - unless the criminal is a repeat offender at the location. When they do take action - the offender is let out almost instantly - only to start stealing from the store all over again. I have no words for what I see happening to this city that I no longer recognize. Before I left the store - he said this: “They give the criminals more power than the workers.” New York City is completely out of control. Why are we empowering criminals?

@burgessdryan Communication and responsibility? Sounds a simple idea but "get what you want by saying what you mean" by simply asking them. Give them the responsibility, trust them to do it and step back. Maybe a bit idealistic but should work if done well?

Either way, as individualism increases. I hope and sense we will see an increase in people having and becoming personal mentors/life coaches. Which will help reduce the polarisation of the modern internet where the loudest voices tend to hold the limelight. #productmanagement

I'm hopeful that the introduction of AI like ChatGPT will help people see the fallacies behind "get rich quick" schemes so they can find what's important to them and lead a more authentically happy life.

It's likely most present day communication happens digitally, and if not, it's likely there's a device within earshot. I wonder if individuals/families had the option to enable/allow a robot to silently analyse comms and provide suggestions/support - would they be open to it?

@EveWarren1 For me... keep asking "why?" If there's brief, there's likely a problem that a person(s) wants solving, in asking why you'll discover why the problem exists which will provide you with your constaints which will be the canvas to visualise, propose and execute etc.

@MillyTamati What is the context here - i.e. in relation to any type of community? Or specific to local, online, corporate or hobbyist?

Prediction: 9/10 communities will fail. Why? Because there's no intentional community design baked into the vision. This can help 👇🏽

@johncutlefish Has to be human nature as individuals within teams have varying experiences. Gut says it's a desire to please and comfortably vouch for the unknowns but not to over promise. In short, our society across the board takes 20% steps towards progress at a time - it's a good thing?

Why would that be a problem? Simple evolution - if you don't use it, you lose it. Climate change is a great example and my point is that I think deep down we love this planet and want to keep it - hence our financial systems and corporate goals need to be adapted.

Last point - I'd say our financial system misguides us in terms of prioritising profits only. So our 'ability to drive profits' becomes more of a 'desire to drive profits' at all costs. The risk is valuing the quantitative _over_ the qualitative and not as equals.

Two things I've observed after coming back from holiday is that generally our collective output seems to be lower quality but we're either too frantic or distracted, going too fast to be aware. #productphilosophy
