AI agents will need to pay for things. API calls, compute, data, other agents' services. They can't pull out a credit card. They need payment rails that work without a person in the loop. x402 is a protocol for this. Base processes the majority of x402 agentic payment transactions. The Foundation behind it includes Cloudflare, AWS, Google, Stripe, Visa and Mastercard. I think the vast majority of payments in the future will be machine to machine. And right now most of them are on Base.

I went into a local cafe recently and started grilling the barista about wether they’re started implementing opeclaw, claude code and other agentic systems into their coffee making pipeline The barista looked at me with her naive eyes and giggles, saying she doesn’t really understand a word i’m saying I started with some fundamentals, went back in time a bit, explained the “attention is all you know” paper, how that lead to the rise of LLMs, taken ML into a completely different direction She was looking at me with amazement, people were cheering me on from behind me in the queue, i kept going I got to ChatGPT, she said yea i’ve used chat gpt I laughed. So uneducated, so pathetic, so 2022 Nevertheless, i continued, i explained t here how the first versions of CoT agentic systems were conjured up by people interacting with models like gpt and similar and how that’s lead to agents becoming a real thing that people started utilizing The people in the queue even started calling security for them to also listen in, the barista was flustered, she couldn’t understand a word i’m saying, but i know she needs to hear this “So, wanna try to openclaw your morning coffee?” i say, as i get grabbed by two men They lead me out of the cafe as i keep screaming about integrating a new productivity framework by combining claude code and obsidian…
