@Les61410Les @MosiniElisa While it is true that America turned its European allies into helpless dependents who now must rely on us, Trump is trying to insert a spine into you so we no longer have to carry you into battle as a liability.

Yes, and we Europeans will remember the US betrayal. We will remember your blackmail. We will remember your threats. We will remember your malice. We are Europeans, and we will never forget those who try, now or in the future, to harm Europe or the European people. 🇪🇺

@Les61410Les @MosiniElisa Everyone knows that except, seemingly the Americans who did vote for him, or who stayed at home. But you must understand that the entire world is threatened. The issue for us isn’t that he doesn’t represent half the voters. It’s that he represents your Country. I wish you well.

Admiral Alvin Holsey was Forced to Resign After Refusing to Carry Out Illegal Boat Strike Orders from Trump Administration. Admiral Holsey expressed concern for civilian casualties. Secretary Hegseth pushed back and reminded the admiral of his sworn duty. Admiral Holsey informed Hegseth that he had no intention of carrying out an illegal order after 40 years of service in the U.S. Navy. In response, Hegseth threatened to strip Holsey of his command. The meeting became heated and quickly adjourned. Less than 15 minutes later, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth received Admiral Alvin Holsey's letter of resignation. In recent days, members of Congress have reached out to Admiral Holsey requesting him to testify on events surrounding his resignation. Admiral Holsey has receipts and has agreed to testify. Holsey is recognized for breaking barriers as the first Black commander of SOUTHCOM and for his dedication to partnerships and strategic challenges in the Americas.

@RaveCozensHardy @earwig_studio @michaelgove Well there you are! A sound chap, one of us, is wise enough to recognise a tiny mistake, and express his regret. Who among us has not been pressured to get off our tits on coke while stripping the Nation’s assets? We must all briefly reflect and move on.

The Saunders-Roe Princess airliner flying boat, this time with some reference to the proposed passenger cabin layout. The prototype only ever flew with an empty fuselage bar some monitoring equipment.

“Millions of barrels a day” is simply not true. Rosebank oil field is expected to produce ~70–90 thousand barrels per day at peak. That’s: • ~0.07–0.09 million barrels/day • <10% of UK demand • And most of it would be exported So it wouldn’t materially lower UK energy bills anyway.

Ukrainians who went to the Middle East to teach how to shoot down "shaheds", were horrified by the way the US military does it - The Times - They launch up to 8 Patriot missiles at a single target - Sometimes they even use an SM-6 missile ($6 M) to shoot down 1 drone - Radars often operate without proper camouflage, essentially "shining" like beacons. In Ukraine, however, radars are constantly moved and hidden. As an example, they cite a case where just three cheap drones destroyed an early detection radar AN/FPS-132 worth about $1 billion and another air defense radar (~$300 million), which had long been stationary and easily tracked by satellites. But it’s not all bad news for the US military. Pete Hegseth appears to be able to bench press 315 lbs.

The Forgotten War Podcast: Burma Campaign WW2
Seventy-eight miles from Kohima, the Assam Regiment dug in deep at Jessami. Despite ridicule from those unconvinced an attack would come, Brown’s defensive positions proved vital. Their refusal to yield in 1944 bought precious time for to organise the garrison in Kohima. #Warfare #Heroes #Defense

British politicians now speak about returning to the EU. As a European, this makes me truly happy. I will support this with all my strength, so that when the British people decide to come back, they will find an open door waiting for them. Because we are one European family 🇪🇺🇬🇧

European Democrats@democrats_eu

When even London’s mayor @SadiqKhan @MayorofLondon says the UK cannot afford to drift between Trump’s tariffs, geopolitical shocks and the long shadow of Brexit, it’s time to listen — in Britain and beyond. Sadiq Khan’s message is clear: the illusion of sovereignty has come at a real cost, with weaker growth and less influence. In an unstable world, standing alone is not strength. Rebuilding a close partnership with Europe is not nostalgia — it is a strategic necessity.
