An elephant and a dog get pregnant at the same time. 3 months later, the dog gives birth to 6 puppies. After 6 months, the dog gets pregnant again. 12 months on, she gives birth to 6 more puppies. The pattern continues. On the 18th month, the dog asks the elephant: “Are you sure you are pregnant? We got pregnant at the same time and I have given birth twice. My puppies are now big dogs, yet you’re still pregnant. What’s going on?” The elephant says: "What I’m carrying is not a puppy but an elephant. I only give birth once every two years. When my baby hits the ground, the world feels it. When my baby crosses the road, humans stop and watch in admiration. What I carry draws attention, what I'm carrying is MIGHT and GREAT." Why am I sharing this? We’re all ‘pregnant’ somehow. Building a business, a family, or a life. We have a vision and we work on it with excitement. But we’re quick to compare ourselves to others. We fall in the trap of scrolling through timelines and get lost in scenarios where we put ourselves down. We forget to acknowledge our progress. We forget to focus on what we can control. Negative thoughts make us doubt ourselves like the dog tried to do with the elephant. ‘X is making so much money. Y already has two kids. Z has such a cool life.’ But the story of the elephant and the dog helped me remember... Each journey is special. Every life is unique. And we’re all living it in our way. I’m not looking for quick results. I’m not looking for quick fixes or instant gratification. I’m building a lifetime of satisfaction and success. And this takes time. Just like bringing an elephant into the world. So next time those negative thoughts come barking at you, remember: Your time will come. Don’t let comparison and self-doubt slow you down or stop you. If you trust that what you’re working on has value, keep going. If you believe you’re on the right path, keep going. If you need more time, take it. Go at your own pace. Great things take time.
