This is so true. Reminds me of my guy @Blakekincaid27. Saw him pitch summer of 2021. Didn’t light up the radar gun, but competed his tail off and knew how to pitch with feel and moxie. We signed him and he ended up breaking the single season K record and ledthe team to a conf💍

Exactly 25 years ago, on January 1, 2000, the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles published “The Living Christ: The Testimony of the Apostles.” This is the original document: ChurchofJesusChrist.org/study/scriptur…. I am one of four living Apostles who signed my name to this landmark document, along with Presidents Dallin H. Oaks, Henry B. Eyring, and Jeffrey R. Holland.
Over the last quarter century this testimony has been read, studied, and even memorized by countless disciples of Jesus Christ. My study of this testimony increases my desire, every day, to be more like Him.
As I celebrate my 101st New Year’s Day, I continue to love the opportunity it provides for fresh starts, new perspectives, and new and renewed resolutions.
May I extend an invitation to you as you consider what your resolutions will be this year? I invite you to come to the temple as often as your circumstances allow.
In the house of the Lord, we focus on Jesus Christ. We learn of Him and His gospel. We make covenants that bind us to Him and to our Heavenly Father. Through these temple experiences and others, we are strengthened to achieve our New Year’s resolutions.
My dear friends, may this new year be filled with the light, love, joy, and power of our Savior and Redeemer, who is the Living Christ.

In the first century, Jesus Christ established his church. The apostles wrote the epistles to the early church to prevent false doctrine and teachings from creeping in. The apostles were killed and slowly, false doctrines began to creep in and the priesthood authority was lost. False doctrine such as infant baptism, prayers to saints, the trinity, a closed canon, no more prophets or apostles, etc began to creep in and become official doctrine. These were not doctrines in the original church that Christ established. The leaders of the Protestant reformation read the scripture and realized that it didn’t align with what was taught. They tried to reform the church to its original teachings. We see the fruits of this with thousands of denominations now. We see even more false doctrine that’s crept into the evangelical churches, such as sola scriptura, faith alone, once saved always saved, etc. The Protestant reformation ultimately failed because the church split from already bad fruit, which turned into more bad fruit. The snowball effect had begun. Now, here’s the biggest news since the resurrection!! In the 1800s, the first century church was RESTORED, not reformed. The priesthood authority was restored to the Earth. God once again calls prophets, apostles, revealed new scripture, instructed us the build temples again just as in the New Testament, corrected the false doctrines, and that church has succeeded to become worldwide and bring souls to a correct understanding of the nature of God, our place in His plan, the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the ordinances of salvation and exaltation. That church is none other than The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

@2Hagen2 Game should have maybe 5 minutes left, but they can’t help themselves. They have to make their presence known.

@CoachMongero He got humbled shortly after this as well. No game more humbling than baseball.

And we wonder why HS players and younger act the way they do. I know, some will pop back “your old school, get with the times.” My take is this is a bad look no matter how old you are. Your job is to get hitters out. Period. Do that and do it well, and you get all the respect in the world. Acting a fool, makes you just that.

@BravesBarve @rogerclemens You can’t change everything up because there’s a runner on base. Receive-first mindset, learn to block and throw from that position, and chase success. Don’t fear failure and change everything up just because you’re scared of a dirt ball
English

@maxsadler5 @rogerclemens Then do the OKD for every scenario except when a runner is on base (or at least when on 3rd for crying out loud).
Saving some theoretical runs bc of a stolen strike when you don’t know if still woulda got out anyway gets negated when you give up actual runs
English

Well…here you go…I’ve seen it many times throughout the last couple of years since the analytic gurus say catch on one knee to steal one or two strikes over the course of a game.
This is an easy ball to block if you’re not catching on one knee!
Catcher now can only try and backhand catch it.
Costly especially this time of year.
English

@mattrosestl @rogerclemens Have you ever blocked from both stances and determined which is better to do your job from?
English

@maxsadler5 @rogerclemens There is no way the 1 knee down technique and analytics can support doing it with a runner on third at any time much less playoffs and an elimination game.
English

@mattrosestl @rogerclemens In general, you have many more opportunities to win borderline pitches throughout an AB than you do to block a pitch. Over the course of a game, it’s not even close.
English

@maxsadler5 @rogerclemens What do the analytics say the odds are in stealing a strike in 1 single at bat compared to a pitch being thrown in the dirt in 1 single at bat?
English

@AcHammerTime10 @rogerclemens I’m assuming when you say “traditional style” you are talking about being on 2 feet. In what way specifically is that “far and away” better?
English

@maxsadler5 @rogerclemens Sure. Although he’s technically not on one knee it’s absolutely terrible form due to the one knee down epidemic. Traditional style is far and away the better choice and this video alone should be the only “analytic” needed to show that
English

@AcHammerTime10 @rogerclemens Would you like to talk about catching?
