The research project that got the lab off the ground has been published in @NatureSMB 🥹. I couldn't do a better job of summarizing than co-lead author @jrichardalbert , so he'll take it from here! (and makes unexpected connections with our other recent study)

Any scientists who are on here to have an honest conversation about research, share papers, discuss science culture, etc. I think it's time to stop, and go to the other site. If you think you're here to make some kind of stand, I respectfully find that rather naive. #LogOff

@maxvcg When I wrote twitter is my last social media account and I am not going anywhere ... I'm less convinced about it than when I wrote it ... maybe if I make it through to the next year, I'll reconsider it. :-)

Another PSA: If you (like me) are mainly here for science, but also really enjoy lurking in other corners (sports and politics for me), the other site is really coming into its own. And the Science discourse there is as good as anything since Prelon Twitter.

@AMCarvalhoSilva @michalis_averof nah, it's bc this product has massively degraded, and I (and I think many others) want to return to a network more akin to our tastes. That's not some noble act, just the market in action.

@michalis_averof @maxvcg Unless we believe in the paradox of tolerance... It's hard for me to move just because it's at moments uncomfortable and we are exposed to opinions that might be considered over the limit!

I will be keeping this account but will be posting more on the blue place 🦋from now on. Huge migration of scientists to there over the last week and it finally feels how Twitter did when I first joined 🔥

@generegulation You in particular could carve out a really nice niche in Bluesky

@maxvcg I may consider using more actively LinkedIn and Mastodon. I tried and did not like Bluesky, because it is exactly the same as Twitter by design, with the disadvantage that it has less audience.

It seems like journals and research institutes are a little slower to migrate (except for @cshperspectives, obviously). But whoever is running those accounts, now is the time! (🦋🦋/🦋🦋)
