@tuhin Once you’re reading it’s totally fine though. Typically there’s only a full refresh once every chapter.

@maxvoltar I want the eink screen but at iPad like refresh speed. Currently every time I try an eink device I zone out in between the global ui refresh. It’s so slow.

Holy hell why would anyone want an Android-based ereader?? Got the Boox Go 7 and sending it right back. The software is constantly fighting the operating system and the thing needs to boot every time you pick it up. My 8y old Kobo Aura One blows this thing out of the water.

@maxvoltar I def will! there was a time I loved an old kindle but it was just a little too small and didn’t feel “book” like enough

I would really love a service that took my read later and bookmarks list and mailed me a printed edition every month. I haven't modeled it and assume it doesn't work as a business, but would maybe someone with a billy wants to do it for the culture.

@joshpuckett Check out the Xteink device and how people have written community software for it. Too small for actual book reading, but love the rock and roll level.

@joshpuckett Oh they’re still “dumb” (in a good way) and slow, but not slower than flipping a page in a physical book. To me at least, they’re amazing devices coming close to actual books with some additional benefits (lighter, more content, ability to look up things, backlight…)
