GLP1 RAs are important therapies & all this highlights the need for more gut endocrinology- vascular health discussion & research. @DanielJDrucker @DiabetesCanada

@Kidfears99 Its like you take away t1d but instead add a new stressor. Its not a win win in my mind. And psychologically islet cells etc are emerging but physically not having diabetes for a yr w/ immunosuppressants but then to have to go back to injections is too great a burden for me.

IT IS NOT A CURE FOR DIABETES IF I HAVE TO TAKE IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS FOR LIFE. Hope this helps.

Why share, knowing that there are plenty of drs like the gi one . To vent my frustrations in words & 2) to perhaps if a hcw reads this, to know that listening matters This experience was one of the worst pt experiences EVER. Violating & bubbled up trauma @doreen_rabi end/

His whole team, RN & admin are as cold as him. I know that hc is under strain, & mb they had -ve workplace issues but a little empathy shouldn't be too much to ask. Being berated by admin bc i thought my question was more medical and not procedure booking based is so fun 🫠 16/

The report the RN gave me said to discontinue the migraine & antinausea meds for a few months bc they cause issues & to stay on laxatives. So basically suffer with migraines and feel like shit post meal & do meds that ive tried before. For hopeful bowel movements. 13/

At the end, while I was being wheeled, i was asking questions- was it neuropathy, colon structurally ok, what next (if anything) & w/o even looking up he said that he'll schedule a mri of the colon bc to him it was a post stroke issue (untrue bc i asked my neuro & he said no) 12/

Then he inserted the scope. Despite me pleading him to stop for a few minutes (far more uncomfortable than what google says) he just continued. Went further than what the procedure was. This particular test didn't need sedation but he went beyond that. I was crying at the end 11/

This dr and I spoke and he said that I wasn’t trying enough, to take meds ($$$ and not fully covered ) and that i needed a sigmoidoscopy to rule out things 3/

The dr made no facial expressions when I explained in detail my month long struggles & chuckled when i told him how his office told me to not contact him - & just started the procedure- his finger turning around in my bum. Without telling me what he was doing/looking for 10/

Got dressed & waited until the RN came in, unknowingly that he had to do an enema (cant do it with one hand). He seemed annoyed - and then they wheeled me in & the rn said it would be ok- not knowing my past trauma/ptsd. 9/
