@DanAbrahams77 @IanWright0 Demonstrates the balance between guided discovery with peers & ‘over coaching’. Intricate details that can be identified & transferred by players ‘in the moment’ will arguably be more beneficial/ valuable than generic information aired by a coaches overview ‘of the moment’.

I’m hoping the full video of this will be released…because @IanWright0 was fantastic… 1. He spoke about how he and Martin Keown used to do 1 v1 after most training sessions 2. Key to these training sessions were the conversations they had…they shared their sensorial and intrinsic experiences - what they think, see, and feel as a defender and as a striker (building knowledge-of and knowledge-in the game)…so they learned from each other 3. He spoke about his in-game mentality when playing against really good defenders. That, of course, he would have moments of doubt…and that’s why it was so important for him to celebrate mini wins In-sum, it was striking how much deliberate practice Ian engaged in. It was also interesting how he found mini ways to deal with the contextual challenges he faced at the highest level of the game. This was a really rich conversation. Thanks so much to @SportsDirectUK for making it happen…

@ThornabyFCWomen Absolutely disgusting!!!! How on earth can a whole committee buy into such nonsense!! Women and girls sports have grown immensely over the last few years, but backward thinking like this just highlights how much further we have to go.

This leaves over 100 girls without a club. We would like to thank all of our Coaches, Volunteers, Players, Supporters and Sponsors for their dedication over the last 3 years, you are all AMAZING 😍 We are are all devastated to hear of the Thornaby FC.
