Former Credit Union Executive: “These days, we’re seeing frequent mega-mergers that create credit unions with billions or tens of billions of assets and multi-state, if not nationwide fields of membership. 🚨🇺🇸FINANCIAL WATCHDOG PUT ON ICE - 1,700 EMPLOYEES TOLD TO STOP WORKING IMMEDIATELY Russ Vought, Trump’s OMB Director and now acting Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) chief, just froze the agency in its tracks - ordering all 1,700 employees to halt work immediately. Instead of demanding more taxpayer cash, Vought is forcing the CFPB to survive on its $711 MILLION stockpile, calling out D.C’s reckless spending habits. Vought: “I have learned that the Bureau has a balance of $711,586,678.00 in the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection Fund. By law, I must take account of this sum when determining the amount ‘reasonably necessary’ for the Bureau to fulfill its statutory authorities.
