Italophile but Suffolk comes a close second. I am alive because of the advent of Bcr-Abl tyrosine kinase inhibitors. Sono fortunata 🍀

I go off on a rant about the importance of art history. Is there a more important subject you can study? Possibly medicine. But that’s it! Say I! In the latest episode of the podcast they could not stop!

This made me so sad. 👇 How on earth did we get to a stage where Art History is deemed so lowly and unimportant and unnecessary that only 800 people a year take thé A-level! Madness. It’s the human story. Frôm thé very beginning. Before there were words, there was art.

My Art Newspaper article from last month on the decline of art history as a subject. (Still amused by the QAA disliking even the word art - a ‘historical construct rooted in European colonial expansion’.)

Enough of the bullshit, enough of the rhetoric, enough of the fiddling around the edges, enough of rearranging the deckchairs, enough of pointless commissions and even more pointless reports, enough of the lying, enough of the deceit, enough of the gaslighting, enough of the masquerade, enough of the pretending it's time for govt to get a grip, to show leadership, to show determination, to do the right thing, to act.
It's time to put the water industry back into public ownership and the time to do that is now.
But have they got the balls?!

17 Dec: Saturnalia, held 17th–23rd December, was the Romans’ midwinter festival marked by gift-giving, feasting, and role reversal between masters and slaves. It is thought mistletoe may have been hung over doorways during the festivities to bring peace and good fortune. #history

@thesuffolkcoast Sailors Path in June. Wonderful hot spells of sunshine created a fabulous mixed environment for hundreds of butterflies - will never forget the joy of that walk between Aldeburgh and Snape.

@bloodcancer_uk Exhaustion - doesn’t always show on your face but is felt deep in the body. Hard to explain that you can wake in the morning and count the hours until you can possibly get back into bed!

Looking well, doesn't always equal feeling well.

@mayqueen69 Not sure putting on a real fact sheet that you could be killed by fairies is a good idea 🙂
English

@TheKentAcorn Sorry I misunderstood. It was just you spoke of a visitor factsheet ?
English

@mayqueen69 Sorry Wendy, not open to the public. It’s the only way to keep it as it is
