@russellcurtis On the west coast, at least, I always thought they built houses from wood because they were structurally more tolerant of the frequent earthquakes at the expense of being slightly more combustible.

Having just come back from the US, it's striking how much of its housing is built from timber. Yet here in London, grant-funded affordable housing is impossible if it includes any timber in the external walls. This policy desperately needs an update.

I will only believe the AI hype when it can solve real programming problems, namely - automatically adding/removing C++ member functions from the header/cpp - automatically adding/removing includes when you use/remove the corresponding functions/classes
