Hi @EveryoneActive, I attended your Enderby gym today and when I asked another member to step to one side slightly to give me some personal space, the situation escalated to such a degree that the member questioned why I felt justified to ask, refused to move, refused to …

@DeputyGrocott We are only allowed to drink two days per week and every other time we want a drink, we are contributing to our holiday fund! Today I decided we are not starting until Epiphany hahah

@DeputyGrocott Turkey and gammon pie with all of the leftover veg, stuffing and Yorkshire puddings chopped up, and the leftover gravy poured in before you put the pastry lid on… we now have no leftovers left!

Feel asleep in the bath earlier and now my face looks like a giant raisin. Perfect for greeting our SIP on a walk round of the school and two days of parents' evening. Three more days. 😭😭😭

@Teacherglitter I’m with you. I’m a middle leader in pastoral so I can spend more time with the children I love, as well as hours in the classroom doing what I came into teaching for. A trainee said “I will remember this lesson in 10yrs because this is how I want to be as a teacher”. Job done.

I am a teacher for the children. I have been a teacher 20 years. I haven’t decided to seek leadership or promotion for better pay. I got into this job to make a difference to the children in my class. And will retire one day having spent every day in class. For the children.

@Teacherglitter Looking forward to your half term pics. This is awesome and when pastoral care supports what you are doing at home, we can only win. Well done to your little one.

What a difference a year makes. This time last year my daughter had refused school on and off on since year 7-9. In year 10, she didn’t attend Autumn 1 at all. She has just sat 2 weeks of mocks in exam conditions and attended every one. She is my hero.

Had a scary evening. Son’s house has flooded tonight and his girlfriend was trapped inside. Had fire and rescue out. Was a very stressful evening. They are all safe and on the way home to stay with me in the sofas. Keep your family close and safe. It’s so scary when they aren’t.

How any of you teachers are doing real life stuff is beyond me. I've been a jaded blob all day and the biggest thing I've done is change from my sleeping pajamas to my day time pajamas.

If there’s one plea I could make ahead of GCSE results day tomorrow, it’s in the way the media and other commentators talk about GCSE grades. Grades 1-3 are not fails. Us or Xs are. Anyone with a 1-3 HAS GOT A GCSE. And for some of those kiddos, a 1 or a 2 or 3 can be a phenomenal result that they deserve to be proud of. Let’s be a bit more responsible in our language.

@LeeBraganza My daughter got her first choice today but a couple of her friends didn’t, but said the people on the clearing lines were just lovely and kind and made them feel so calm. Grateful to all who man those phone lines on such a stressful day.

I got my uni place through clearing so one summer I worked on the Royal Holloway lines. Every student who called didn't get the grades they wanted but we were able to offer all of them a place. The unbridled joy in their voices still makes me smile today.
