Anglophone X is now flooded with Americans explaining how Europe was freeloading off the American empire, and cheering its coming end.
I'm cheering too, so we're on the same side.
But here's the funny part: MAGA has actually gaslit itself into believing the American Empire was a bad deal for America and a gift to Europe. (And that it was always this way - meaning they genuinely think their parents and grandparents were either idiots or naive philanthropists who, having Europe in the palm of their hand, decided to set up a system that worked against them.)
As a result, MAGA is now dismantling its own empire. We haven't seen a self-own this spectacular since Germany blew up its own nuclear plants.
There's always a moment in history when the metropole gets tired of paying for empire and loses sight of what it's getting out of it. We're there now.
It's going to cost Europe dearly to exit its semi-protectorate status. But in the end, it'll be far better off for it.
I put together a quick scorecard of what each side - America and Europe - gains and loses from the status quo.
I'd encourage my American friends to take a look. So many of you have no idea how your own empire actually works. (1/2)

So the first "contentious" thing happened; a lot of Japanese people saw Trump saying "other countries can go get that oil" and mentioned Japan, and many Japanese people were saying "what the hell is this guy talking about? Is he crazy!? Screw that!" And so I replied to them, "here is how we see the situation," and they... listened politely and actually had a conversation with me. Typically, Europeans talking to us in English are incredibly insufferable and will only hurl more insults in a situation like that. So this experience really was different. Something I've noticed about talking with the Japanese; they do seem more sincere. I've yet to see someone who says much but conveys little information; or someone who lets catch-phrases substitute for real communication. Now, culturally, it is true Americans tend to be less formal and more friendly, but I think a lot of the warmth Japanese posters are experiencing is a direct result of the earnestness of their posts drawing out real appreciation from Americans. It is only natural to think "this is just another fad, it will blow over." Most things are like that. But from what I can see, you guys are just... *good.* Without embellishment. Of course we're going to like you. That's not going to change tomorrow, or next week, or next decade.

There is a distinction:
Anglos (and western Europe) will take a W by publicly making others lose face.
Asians seem to perceive that as an L.
In central and eastern Europe we don't have time for this face bullshit and will publicly call out a spade even if it's the person looking back from the mirror. Some see this as rude others are refreshingly open/honest/based.

Worse. Europe has been successfully baited into an economic meat-grinder of biblical proportions. And it was tricked into torching any allies it might have had on this side of the pond in the process.
Like I said a year ago…economic seppuku.

Not vindicating everything Trump has said (nobody getting injured, the implication that Iranians were defeated rather than the pilot just did well evading any pursuit etc.), but it's 99% certain they did go into enemy territory and retrieve two guys. That's a big success.

You have to hand it to Americans. The Commander in Chief may be a retard at his job, Hegseth is worse, but the actual combatants are competent and effective as all hell. Yes, it's heavily about the tech, but it's not just tech. They are good.

Trump: WE GOT HIM! He sustained injuries, but he will be just fine. The fact that we were able to pull off both of these operations, without a SINGLE American killed, or even wounded, just proves once again, that we have achieved overwhelming Air Dominance and Superiority over the Iranian skies.
