@RaeA_Smith The Gov hold us to ransom.. if they decreased carers we would still do it.. out of love, but it's about them doing the right thing, we aren't part of a union, down tools and demand more.. imagine if we did.. 182 billion is the value of carers in the uk. That's Another NHS

A disabled person is admitted to hospital.
Their carer stays — because staff can’t meet their needs.
But the system says:
Stop PIP. Stop Carer’s Allowance.
As if the care ends. As if the bills stop.
It’s not support.
It’s punishment — and it’s built on ignorance.

The £83.30 per week Carer’s Allowance isn’t a wage. It’s a token. It works out to £3.56 per hour for 35 hours — and many carers give 60–100 hours a week. That’s 24/7 responsibility with no sick pay, no annual leave, no pension, and no job security 🧵
