People will find a reason to criticize everything you do. Paul understood this tension when he wrote: “Am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.” (Galatians 1:10) At the end of the day, you have to be okay with being misunderstood, mocked, or even disliked for what you believe. When you start chasing the world's applause, you stop hearing God’s voice.

The "self-made person" is a myth. We’ve been sold a lie that success is a solo climb, but the truth is far more humbling: We all depend on each other, and we all depend on the One who gave us breath. Don’t let pride blind you to your foundation. 🧵👇

"Count it all joy" is not an easy task. We all lack wisdom here. In times of trials emotions rage. To me this passage is like the exhortation "forgive!" We might not feel like it, we might feel overwhelmed, hurt, broken, but in these times we can commit ourselves to joy, just like forgiveness. It's not always this supernatural second wind in the sails that brings forth strength. Most of the time for me its a commitment to believing in the love of God and His infinite wisdom. Just as we can choose the road of forgiveness, we can choose the road of joy. Lord, I'm going to walk on that road no matter, I submit my will! Hallelujah!

I grew up in churches where I could just drop by my pastors’ homes or chat life with them anytime. That open, family-like access felt completely normal back then. Am I in the minority now? Does anyone else remember (or still have) that kind of closeness with church leaders?

There are seasons when God feels completely silent. No peace. No joy. Just distance. Here’s what the Bible says to do when you’re stuck there 🧵

Have you ever felt so distant from God it’s unbearable? You lose your focus, your joy — and you just get stuck. Peter said it to people far from God, but it’s just as true when we drift: “Repent and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” — Acts 3:19 No matter what you’re walking through right now, this is the key. To repent isn’t to white-knuckle your way back through willpower. It’s not to hide your shame. It’s not to rationalize your mistakes or normalize what you know is wrong. Repentance is a change of thinking. It’s hearing what God has to say — and accepting it. We confess our sins, and God declares His righteousness. And standing right in the middle of that transaction is Jesus — our one mediator, our advocate. Before you even speak, God already knows. The prayer isn’t to move God. It’s so God can move you — back into His presence. Hear His voice, and you will never be the same.

What the world values should never be our values. Can the living find life among the dead? The word of God is eternal and leads to life when we come to Jesus.

There are things only you can do. Don't look sideways or backwards, just look ahead. Look to Jesus. He's not comparing you to anyone else. Neither should you. He is the only standard. Start what's in front of you right now. A lot of people want to know God's will. Sometimes all you need to do is look at your hands and feet. What can you do with your hands in the place you are right now? Simple obedience is what is required. Scripturally, success is measured by faithfulness, not outcome.

Two of the greatest leaders in history once had a fight so bad they had to split up. And the craziest part? Both of them had a point. Paul and Barnabas were giants of the faith — but they hit a wall over a young man named Mark. Barnabas wanted to give him a second chance. Paul said no, pointing out that Mark had abandoned them on a previous mission. Neither man would budge, so they parted ways. But watch what God did with that. Because they split, two missions launched instead of one. Barnabas took Mark under his wing and mentored him — and that same Mark went on to write the Gospel of Mark, one of the four pillars of the New Testament. As for Paul, he eventually admitted that Mark had become one of his most useful partners in ministry. Their disagreement didn’t stop the mission. It doubled it. So here’s the takeaway: sometimes the most Spirit-led thing you can do isn’t winning the argument — it’s trusting God with the outcome and just keep pressing on. The person you’re fighting with today might have far more in common with you than you realize. And God just might use your disagreement to do something neither of you ever expected. Remember Romans 8:28 — “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

God has revealed Himself to us in two ways. Through nature and His word. In nature we can see He is a grand Creator. He has vast knowledge and artistry. Through His word we get a look behind the curtain. We see the spiritual realm as He has revealed it. Certain knowledge can only come from revelation, not observation.

Hustle culture is killing us. Non-stop cities, 24/7 everything, endless noise. But God didn’t design us that way. He created everything in six days… and on the seventh, He rested. Then He commanded: “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.” Rest isn’t optional. It’s built into creation. True rest isn’t about stopping your body; it’s about replenishing your soul. We were made to live from our spirit, connected to God. Here’s the good news: Jesus is our Sabbath. He is our rest. You don’t have to wait for Sunday. Or Saturday or any one day. You can find soul-rest in Him every single day.

Can we cure the disease of selfishness? Scripture tells us “there is no one righteous, not even one.” We were made in the image of God — created to reflect His goodness and love. But when are parents Adam and Eve disobeyed God, we traded that purpose for something smaller. We wanted to be our own god. And we feel that every day. People disappoint us. They hurt us and act like it never happened. They tell us to just move on — no apology, no accountability. And we think if we could just fix them, everything would be okay. But ask yourself — how long did it take you to fix you? And you’re still working on it.We can’t fix people. But Jesus can save them. He spoke the universe into existence. He knows every heart, every wound, every hidden motive. And unlike us, He doesn’t look at the surface — He looks at what’s underneath. George Lucas once said “You can't change the world. It's not possible. All you can do is try to make your own world and then invite other people to be a part of it.” We may not be able to fix this broken world. But we can point people to the One who will. Jesus is coming — and when He does, everything changes. Don’t give up on people. Just stop trying to be their savior.

The "self-made person" is a myth. We all depend on each other and opportunity strikes when we least expect it. Nebuchadnezzar got a lesson from God on pride. He said to himself “Is not this the great Babylon I have built as the royal residence, by my mighty power and for the glory of my majesty?” He didn’t even finish the sentence before a voice thundered from Heaven: “Your authority is gone.” The most powerful man on earth was driven mad. He spent seven years living like a wild animal, eating grass in the fields. Why? Because he forgot who gave him the breath to speak in the first place. If God doesn’t build the house, the foundation will crumble. Success is never a solo achievement; it’s a stewardship of the unique gifts He’s loaned to you. Don’t let pride cost you everything. Stay grounded in gratitude—because at the end of the day... the "self-made person" is a myth.

James says to "count it all joy" when you face trials. Why? Because God isn’t looking at your "output." He’s looking at the worker. He’s more interested in your heart, your growth, and your relationship with Him than your "results." Success in God’s economy is measured by faithfulness, not outcome. Because if the worker is as he should be — the work will be as it should be. Fruitfulness comes from good soil.
