@WaNkwatisa What is interesting for me here is what impact does this have on the Gen. Sibiya case given Gen. Masemola is the charging authority ! Does anything turn on this ? HR specialists must guide us here.

So you want to tell me that Gen. Fannie Masemola will be in court, charged for some or other crimes, before they arrest Lt. Gen Sibiya??? Sgt. Nkosi, JD Mkhwanazi, Brown Mogotsi the list is long but Gen. Masemola will be in the dock before these crooks? Khona into e-off with IDAC

@misumuzi_4 Gen. Masemola will be suspended and an acting NC amenable to the other side like the current acting police minister will be appointed. Solid fightback strategy by IDAC.

@misumuzi_4 Any arrest or charging of Gen. Masemola should be scrutinised with a fine comb and should worry those who support Gen. Mkhwanazi and Gen. Khumalo. This lays a basis for his suspension, that's all the other side needs ! This spells doom !

@Kol0924 @Inqubeko_news Yet again Gen. Mkhwanazi's move to arrange a meeting with Malema was a tactical masterstroke ! Why ? That move nullified Malema's bidding for Sibiya ! Essentially shut him up on the AKA matter. Why did Malema not call Mkhwanazi for an update before going public ?

Sizwe Mpofu-Walsh says it is unfair for Julius Malema to call General Mkhwanazi a coward, and believes Mkhwanazi would have said everything he said even if Malema had been present at the Ad Hoc Committee. He also stated that supporting General Mkhwanazi does not make someone his “ball-boy” or “ball-girl.” He added that Mkhwanazi has helped the country reveal so much rot in less than a year. He says you can call General Mkhwanazi whatever you like, but “a coward” — never; he is extremely brave.

@kubhayisam2 @IOL Because the position controls vetting therefore powerful ! Those Khan and his clique don't like get frustrated with unjustified vetting delays ! Case in point, Gen. Mkhwanazi. It seems Gen. Khan is at the centre of problems at Crime Intelligence.

@Sinawo_Thambo But Gen. Mkhwanazi long said it was through Gen. Khan that he met/knows Malema ! The answer to your question came long before the question was even asked. What's your point ?

It puzzles me why the media has not asked the good general Lt General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi whether it is true that he asked General Khan to meet EFF President Malema, to explain progress on the murder of AKA. Any reputable journalist would want to know whether this is true or not, the General must say if we are lying or not. Surely?

@NalediChirwa Malema's attack on Mkhwanazi is simply disproportionate to Mkhwanazi's comments ! Even going as far as calling him a coward ! Malema's so-called clarity actually causes more questions ie was he doing Sibiya's bidding by discrediting Mkhwanazi's investigation ?

We aren’t saying he implicated President Malema. Mkhwanazi didn’t implicate him, we agree. However, that he said he met Malema through Khan without clarifying that HE is the one who asked Khan to help him meet Malema is where we have a problem. Tell the whole truth so fools don’t manipulate information like how Mbuyiseni is now doing, even going as far as insinuating that Malema is part of the “top politicians” in cahoots with corrupt cops when Mkhwanazi never even said that. Why are we even arguing about this? Don’t you guys want the WHOLE TRUTH???
Blanco®@DineoDMufamadi

Mkhwanazi has implicated a lot of people but one thing Mkhwanazi hasn’t done is said Malema is binnekant! The only thing I recall was that he said he met the CIC through General Khan! Sgt Nkosi was the one that mentioned CIC so may times

@Sentletse Gen. Mkhwanazi says he met Malema through Gen. Khan - this is a FACT. Gen. Mkhwanazi states a FACT but you somehow call it an insinuation. Tell us what it is that Gen. Mkhwanazi insinuated ? So far it seems you are ascribing your own thoughts/worries to Gen. Mkhwanazi.

@Phumla_N @Ta_Fitty In fact Malema's outburst reveals that the issue here is not the so-called Gen. Khan squabbles but rather the AKA murder ! We know Gen. Sibiya tried to insert himself into that investigation. We now know that Malema tried to publicly discredit Mkhwanazi's investigation.

@Phumla_N @Ta_Fitty Further, Gen. Mkhwanazi mentioned this FACT at the beginning of the Adhoc but there was no outburst from Malema ! Why the outburst now ? If anything this week it's Sgt. Nkosi who revealed some interesting information in relation to Tshwane.

Let me help you with a different perspective: Firstly, his tone is political, he is not only clarifying his position, he is also giving a political speech which is meant to engage with the crowd. Mkhwanazi never said he is concerned about Malema’s relationship with Khan, he said that he met Malema through Khan & this was not the first time that he said this. At the Madlanga commission he said that Khan had attended EFFs Gala dinner. Now let’s look at what the merits are here? The merits are that Malema and Khan know each other and that Mkhwanazi met Malema through Khan. Is that disputed by Malema in his speech? The answer is no, instead Malema supports this fact with additional information which completes the picture of how they met and for what reason they were meeting which is something that Mkhwanazi omitted. Secondly, Malema is being positioned as an influential politician meddling in the business of police both where Khan and Sibiya is concerned. So this can be viewed as blackmail because being positioned as somewhat “corrupt” or connected to the “corrupt” individuals is also a serious allegation. What does Malema do? He gives you context about his call with Sibiya so that you don’t cast aspersions. Nothing is pre-emptive because it is already something that has been put as fact both to the Ad Hoc committee and at the Madlanga commission. Malema therefore has right of reply. Malema is one of the very few politicians who absorbs pressure and faces it head-on with his truth. That’s exactly what he did today, he confronted facts and applied context, he didn’t deny a single thing that Mkhwanazi said but he corrected the manner in which it was put which has the effect of distorting the truth. Thirdly, Malema is asking that the EFF & himself not be drawn into battles that have nothing to do with them. He is trying to restore the dignity and confidence of the party and himself especially at this crucial time of campaigning for local government elections. It is important that things be clarified if they have the potential of damaging the EFFs image and his as the leader of the EFF. Lastly, Malema says Mkhwanazi must state these allegations in front of him so that they can engage on same. It is unfortunate that Malema was unavailable due to the death in his family when Mkhwanazi voiced this at the Ad hoc committee. So there is nothing gangster about saying you can engage in conversation with someone about something they have to say about you. Instead, that is a demonstration of your desire to be transparent.
Salt & pepper 🌶️@baltysb1

This is a classic political posture from Julius Malema, strongly loud, defiant, and clearly aimed at consolidating authority in front of his supporters. But once you strip away the rhetoric, there are a few important issues worth interrogating. Firstly, the tone. Calling Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi a coward while also dismissing his concerns as sensitivity shifts the conversation away from substance to personality. That’s often a political tactic attack the messenger, so you don’t have to fully engage the message. The real question is, What exactly is General Mkhwanazi saying, and is it being addressed on its merits, na? Secondly, the famous slogan we will not be blackmailed line. That’s a serious claim. If there is blackmail, it should be clearly stated and backed with evidence. Otherwise, it risks sounding like a pre-emptive defense against uncomfortable truths. Strong leadership isn’t just about rejecting pressure it’s about confronting facts transparently, even when they are inconvenient. Thirdly, when he says we are not ball boys, that plays well politically, especially with a base that values independence and defiance. But it also raises another question. Is this about maintaining political distanc or avoiding being drawn into accountability conversations that may have broader implications for hom and his personal club EFF? Finally, the claim that Mkhwanazi behaves differently in private versus public spaces. If that is true, it should be demonstrated with clarity because inconsistency matters. But if it’s not substantiated, it again becomes rhetoric rather than a factual challenge, so it borders on gangstarism tendencies.

[COMMENT] Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi is National Commissioner material. His years of experience in policing, his operational leadership, and his deep understanding of crime intelligence and investigations set him apart. He is not a desk-bound officer — he has consistently demonstrated a hands-on approach to policing, taking decisive action in high-pressure situations. At a time when public trust in law enforcement is under strain, leaders who combine discipline, integrity, and real-world experience are exactly what the country needs. Mkhwanazi’s track record in tackling serious and organised crime, as well as his willingness to confront difficult issues within the system, speaks volumes about his leadership capacity. He understands the complexities of policing in South Africa and has shown that he is not afraid to act. South Africa needs strong, credible, and experienced leadership at the highest level of the police service. On merit, Lieutenant-General Mkhwanazi fits that profile. RT if you agree…
