People have taken this tweet like a fervent defense of this particular film, when the point is that most people don’t watch animation as part of their film diet. You don’t have to convince me that animation is a thriving medium. I watch and write about animation plenty.

A lot of “cinephiles” don’t care for animation. They don’t watch it, they don’t write about it. They still see it as a lesser medium, so it’s not surprising that some people are upset about KPOP DEMON HUNTERS being added to Criterion. I hope Criterion adds more animated films.

Hoping that the new "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" short "Chrome Alone 2: Lost in New Jersey," which is attached to the new "SpongeBob" movie this week, makes the Academy shortlist. It's my favorite animated short this year by a considerable margin, full of wit and imagination.

With the recent news I am deeply disappointed and disgusted.
I am proud of the work I have done with the Lorcana team. Everyone at Ravensburger has been amazing and supportive. Currently they do not allow the use of AI in the productions of artwork. I will continue to support my colleagues on the game but for now I need to separate myself from the Disney IP
Disney would be nothing without human artists and with AI or not they will continue to be nothing without human artists. For that reason I don’t think this will last. However for now I will no longer be taking on any further assignments or work based on any Disney property.
