Every guy I've been involved the past few years is balding what is the DEAL!! Or do I subconsciously pick them. Maybe cause I have a big forehead I pick men with bigger foreheads

lol. it's not hard to remake a dating profile. once you're "Dating someone" let alone sexually active together it should be common courtesy to stop using whatever apps. Most apps have a way to temporarily/indefinitely pause/private the profile without deleting it entirely. With Hinge apparently if you pause, matches can still chat/see your profile.. sooo she could still be chatting with other matches (as could he) - seems really dumb for them to use it as a chat app and doesnt instill any optimism in any potential future.

@sibaburck @morallawwithin I disagree with the fact that most vegans are women. I personally know more vegan men than women. We’re not as loud or as activism-proned. You can check that on most online groups/reddit there’s significantly more vegan men than women.

@morallawwithin Most vegans are women. Men and women are equally intelligent but women tend to have higher empathy.

Over time I grow more worried that veganism is mainly just an intelligence thing. It really scares me.

The worst thing about NYC women: they need your money more than you Comparing to SF where girls aren’t as hot but at least they don’t see you as a wallet SF girls just know how to make money themselves and therefore prioritize other things like connection NYC is so expensive and competitive that it’s just hard for a girl to survive You can definitely find a wife in NY but most likely she will be very expensive

the questions every ambitious single person in their 30s needs to answer: is career growth in nyc as bad as the dating scene in sf and is the dating scene in nyc as good as the career growth in sf

as soon as you internalize that hinge is way way closer to something like insta than it is to meetup the more you’ll understand why the outcomes are the way they are. i.e. profiles are actually posts. likes are engagement. the algorithm rewards what gets attention, not what produces an irl meetup.. those incentives only accidentally overlap which is why you get casino type odds. all of this roughly results in the same dynamics as insta where women optimize for follower brained validation loops, men optimize for volume cuz conversion rates are brutal, & the “relationship” framing is mostly just positioning (basically tinder = onlyfans, hinge = insta, bumble = linkedin). an actual meetup model would imply shared activity filtering, revealed preferences, & embodied social context. none of that exists on hinge. what exists is parasocial-ish asymmetry, some status theater, & engagement maximization dressed up as compatibility search. these entities no longer really function for what they were initially designed to do because the macro & micro environments changed drastically around them. sorta like if the water was no longer in the venice canals.

@datingbyblaine Yeah, I would imagine some guys want her to be their financial equal which I would want. I would imagine lifestyle plans are big. Someone who wants to be in Manhattan is probably going to want someone else who wants that Do they care about their style?

Dating criteria I hear often from wealthy matchmaking clients: • Thin, pretty, natural look (e.g. no obvious facial fillers) • Fit, healthy relationship with food & gym • Has an actual career (specifics rarely important) • Warm, playful, feminine energy • No extreme political views
