As DPP you were an ex-officio member of the Sentencing Council (2010–2013) and attended 21 of its meetings while it developed the definitive Sexual Offences Guideline published December 2013 (effective April 2014). That guideline expressly permits community orders, not custodial sentences, for some convictions of sexual activity with a child (e.g. lower culpability/harm categories under ss.9–10 Sexual Offences Act 2003). How does that square with now calling for urgent reviews of ‘lenient’ sentences in appalling child sex cases?
Keir Starmer@Keir_Starmer

This is a harrowing and brave testimony. The girls at the heart of this case have shown extraordinary bravery and strength in heinous circumstances. This is an appalling case and it is right that law officers are urgently reviewing the sentences. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

If you are in Carla Denyer’s constituency, whether you voted for her or not you should write and object to her taking time off from Parliament Tell her if she cannot handle it she should call a by election to get a person who cares for you in place

The victims of this double gang rape case were referred to as 'young women' by Jess Phillips on Today recently. It's jarring to hear the perpetrators referred to as 'children' or 'boys' when they are the same age as their victims. Nobody is calling them 'young men'. #r4today

Honestly I’m very amused people think Andy Burnham is the great reformer from outside the system. He’s been THE SYSTEM for over 25 years right inside the machine…. Researcher, special adviser, MP, cabinet minister, Health Secretary, Shadow Home Secretary and Mayor. He aligns perfectly with the global governance consensus, it’s all there… Net Zero on acid, regional technocratic governance, green energy nonsense economics, managed migration, anti-fracking, “inclusive growth” and pro EU, all from the same worldview promoted by the UN, WEF, NGOs and corporate ESG structures. He doesn’t want to change the system. He IS the system 🤡

Tell me what chance we stand if this is what it takes to deport ONE man who has committed multiple sex attacks. “OSB” is an illegal migrant from Nigeria whose crimes are: 1. Dragging a 16 year old girl into an alleyway, forcing her to the ground, pulling down her trousers and knickers…and then a passerby intervened. 2. Just two days later, attacking a woman from behind on the street at night, pulling down her jogging bottoms. She grabbed a glass bottle to defend herself and managed to escape. 3. Just 20 minutes later, he attacked another woman, dragging her into an alleyway. She managed to escape and ran away screaming in terror. 4. In 2023, he was sent back to hospital after brandishing a knife in the accommodation that the taxpayer pays for on his behalf. The Home Office tried to deport him 9 years ago, in 2017. This has been blocked by lawyers and human rights advocates for the last 9 years. Apparently OSB has paranoid schizophrenia and takes medication for it. The human rights people have argued that if he is sent back to Nigeria and stops taking his medication then he might be punished. This is the most farcical process. Now, at last, he is being deported to Nigeria. Imagine how much this has cost in legal fees. Never mind the cost to the women assaulted by him.

The government has pushed up the food price inflation it condemns. Higher National Insurance on food workers, big rise in rates on food shops, a tax on food packaging. It pays subsidies to farmers to cut food production, not to supply more.

"Well Josh, did your Mum happen to mention that she'll be able to save £1.64 on the family entry to Legoland during the summer"? "Yes Mr Starmer, and she asked me pass on her thanks. She told me to tell you she plans to take us twice in the holidays. That way she'll save over £3 which will be enough to buy a can of coke for us all to share". "That's marvellous Josh. I'm happy to help".

A Walthamstow resident - a trans refugee - told MP Stella Creasy they had ‘wet themselves three times in public’ since the Supreme Court ruling. Because they were worried about being challenged in public toilets. Did she explain that many venues now provide gender-neutral facilities - and point them towards those available locally? Did she promise to campaign for more third spaces and other practical solutions? Nope … Instead, Creasy appears to want to challenge the EHRC guidance - and, in doing so, women’s rights to single-sex spaces.

This is exactly why women need their own spaces away from men. See how vicious he gets? That’s just over the internet. Now imagine saying no to him in real life. In a tiny room. With no windows. Where you take your clothes off. See how he tries to control her? See how he tries to use her for his desires? How he tries to use her as a human shield? Bet you didn’t know he is safe in the men’s room. He has no studies showing he is at risk. He has no data showing that anything will happen to him. No FBI studies. No studies in journals. No long lists of crimes happening against these men in a men’s room. He made that up to manipulate you.

A charity cancelled a choir because its leader believes that women do not have penises. Scope, a charity which supports disabled people, had invited a community choir to cheer on runners at the London Marathon under its banner. But just days before the marathon, Scope rescinded the invitation because the choir leader, Janet Murray, has publicly stated that she believes women are biologically female and that women should be entitled to single-sex spaces. Scope said these views conflicted with its “commitment to diversity and inclusion”. In correspondence with Janet, the charity reportedly said: “We are concerned about your views because we don’t agree with your views.” It seems Scope is more concerned about policing lawful opinions than supporting its charitable work on behalf of disabled people — many of whom rely on single-sex care and spaces themselves. Cases involving people being penalised for gender-critical beliefs remain one of the largest categories of cases handled by the Free Speech Union. Under the Equality Act, gender-critical beliefs are protected philosophical beliefs. Janet is a member of the Free Speech Union and is taking legal action against Scope alleging unlawful discrimination on the basis of her protected beliefs. If you have been discriminated against because of your belief that sex is biological and immutable, join the Free Speech Union — and we will stand up for your right to express lawful opinions. The Liberal Democrats plan is to: ⚫ Increase import tariffs on thousands of goods ⚫ Cancel trade deals with over 100 countries ⚫ Prevent import bans on products produced with animal cruelty or environmental harm We fully expect that the Lib Dems don't understand any of this
Liberal Democrats@LibDems

Liberal Democrats know our future is at the heart of Europe, and we have a credible plan to get there. It starts with a UK-EU Customs Union.

He said he would freeze council tax He said he would lower energy bills He said he would reduce student tuition fees He said he would support farmers He said he would protect pensioners He said he would support the disabled He said he would help small businesses He said he would fix the economy He said he would overhaul the immigration system At every turn, he’s done precisely the opposite. Keir Starmer is the ultimate traitor and the most hated PM of all time.
