Thank you @EACTS for publishing our aproach for ablation in patients with persistent atrial fibrillation at @hospitalclinic At this moment we are finishing randomizing patients to hybrid vs. catheter ablation (PLAI-AF RCT) and we expect to present results in 2 years.

At @hospitalclinic first experience with a novel sternal fixing device. Easy to implant, made of plastic CFR-PEEK, embraces the sternum without trespassing the inner muscular fascia. Easy to cut with the wire cutter. We are starting a multicenter RCT. doi.org/10.1177/155698…

@miguelpinon_73 We will start measuring, despite at 3am sometimes it’s going to be difficult. Regarding the same size of the arch dissected intima perimeter as the adventitial descending aorta at the level of LA, we will also check, but I doubt it. Thanks for you kind words

Dr. R Pruna-Guillen presented our experience in frozen elephant trunk prosthesis sizing by true-lumen measurement in type A #aorticdissection at #AATS. Objetive: to stabilize the aortic arch performing the aortic anastomosis at zones 0 or 1.

Conclusions: Matching FET prosthesis with estimated pre-dissected arch size seems to provide the most adequate arch sealing. Patent left subclavian artery results in no arch remodeling no matter prosthetic size. Anastomosis in zones 0 or 1 tends to have poorer arch sealing.
