It’s really important and could change the face of politics, that everyday working people are now getting involved, and it’s great to see it happening.
For too long politics has been dominated by career politicians and, in my opinion, that’s a big part of how we’ve ended up where we are today. What better people to represent us than those who live the same lives, face the same struggles, and truly understand the reality of everyday people, because they are us. @juneslater17

The right should absolutely unite behind Rob Kenyon. Do we really want to punish a patriotic, down to earth guy who understands the impact of uncontrolled immigration better than most in Parliament? He represents what many in Restore like as well. The right needs to be smart.

@mcbrideBoro @GayTory Not eating fast food had nothing to do with earnings. It was seen as shameful to resort to such things. Not really an option in my town as it had chippie and that was it. The sophistication when the machines opened early 80s. Too expensive then too and I still don't much like it

I’m not a boomer, I’m 43.
The only time I ever had a burger was when someone had a birthday party at Wimpy.
The only “fast food” we ever had was a chippy. When my siblings were older and it was just me dragged into town with my mum, I’d then get a sausage roll from the bakery.

Boomers seem to forget that fast food used to be a normal, everyday expense for them because it was affordable. You could get a burger easily on minimum wage, it wasn’t some fancy treat you had once a year as a reward for pulling yourself up by your bootstraps.

This is exactly how life was, no eating out, no going for coffee, no restaurants and no holidays either. It’s just the way things were, there was no disposable cash and no ‘canned entertainment.’ The world of expectation is very different now.

I was young in the 80s/90s in the UK. I don’t remember my parents ever going out to eat, except when we were on holiday (in the UK). I don’t think they ever took me to a fast food restaurant, or ordered takeaway food. People today have no clue how working people lived. /1
