@ISU145 @SecRollins The employees at the USDA absolutely hate the Trump administration & will do whatever possible to make them look bad. They are not interested in reliable data. Only keeping their government jobs.

I find it interesting that @SecRollins made it sound in her interview with Joe Vaclavik when asked about the USDA's poor report quality and reliability, she said they would be working on making the WASDE reports more reliable.... Then her USDA literally uses incomplete data to make the 1st WASDE report after that interview instead of waiting....

I'm seeing some experts on here saying "farmers had an opportunity and they failed to hedge their corn". I'm a huge advocate for hedging on here, but it is far from cut and dry until you have hindsight, like the experts have now.
Let's look at this closer: According Farmdoc.illinois.edu N. Ill Farmers breakeven using 230 bpa was between $4.73 and $5.02. Did the farmer really have an opportunity to hedge at a profit. Look at the 12 mo. Dec. 25' corn chart. The farmer had 12 days in the dead of winter to maybe breakeven with an outstanding yield and 0 basis; finding 0 basis will be hard. It's hard for a farmer to lock in a loss 2-3 mo. prior to even putting a seed in the ground? I'm not sure you all should be blaming the farmer for being a poor marketer this year. Stop saying the farmer had an opportunity when the facts don't support that statement. Would the farmer have limited his potential losses if he hedged, yep IN HINDSIGHT, but it is psychologically difficult to lock in a loss with the entire growing season ahead.

@ScottIrwinUI USDA misses all the time without any repercussions. They just adjust whenever they want. The whole agency needs revamped. Only the farmer gets hurt.

Seems like a very large miss in corn (+) and soybeans (-) planted acreage from the June to the Aug/Sep/Oct FSA based revision. I need to look into this.

Big harvested area moves in US corn and soybeans..... made for a massive corn crop above all expectations, but soybean output is lower than previously predicted.

@SpiegsAndHolmes All time low. 50,000 of those fans could lead this team to 9+ losses in a row. Management must go. You can’t do worse than this.

If you don’t love Lawsonia Links, you’ve either never played here or you have horrible taste in golf courses.
Is this 1930 Langford & Moreau design the best value in golf? Very likely.
Is it one of the best public courses in the country? Almost certainly.
Is it an awesome must-play classic that every golfer should see? Definitely.
Am I jealous that Wisconsin has a course that checks all these boxes? Undoubtedly.
