If your friends say cycling is a boring sport to watch, show them this video. 😂 We'll always remember the epic finale between clumsy Arrieta and Eulalio in Potenza, I actually feared they will crash into another in last 200m. GRANDE CASINO!

Leknessund starter bakken veldig langt bak. Og kommer seg fort til fronten. Eksplosiv sak. Altså, Leknessund er i sitt livs form. Han flyr. Tjøtta sitter topp 10 hele bakken, og får en fuck up i spurten. Han hadde mer inne. Nytt nivå. Uno-X har kommet bra fra det i dag.
Da, Dule got it right this time! 🥳 Dusan Rajovic (Solution Tech Nippo Rali) wins the second stage of @tourofhellas in Larissa. 👏🏻🇷🇸 Another 2nd place for Greek riders, this time it was Arvanitou. I'm also glad that the crazy lady who crossed made it alive.

@Cyclingpredpt Hard to see Blikra winning a stage here, given the current sprint field startlist - but he can certainly benefit from a messy bunch sprint. Breakaways are a good shout - Dversnes or Leknessund look the most promising based on Ardennes form
🇮🇹 Giro d'Italia teams analysis: Uno-X Mobility🇧🇻
🏆: JKulset
💨: Blikra
👊🏻💨: Dversnes
⛰️ breaks: Leknessund, Holter, Tjøtta
🃏: Løland
This is primarily a breakaway-focused team, built less around overall classification and more around stage hunting through aggression, opportunism, and versatility. While they do bring a genuine sprint option, their biggest strength is depth across multiple terrain types, especially on transitional stages where breakaways often thrive.
General Classification / Overall Ambitions
In terms of GC, Uno-X are not entering this Giro with major overall expectations.
Their closest option for a respectable general classification result is likely Johannes Kulset but based on current form, expectations should remain modest. A top-20 could be possible under the right circumstances, but even that may be ambitious given his relatively quiet season so far.
Similarly, Andreas Leknessund, who finished an impressive 8th overall in 2023, no longer appears to be at that same level. Rather than targeting GC, Leknessund now feels much more like a rider suited to breakaways, selective mountain stages, and tactical freedom.
Flat Sprint Stages – Erlend Blikra
Uno-X do, however, bring a legitimate pure sprinter in Erlend Blikra.
Blikra has put together a strong season, even if a major win has often felt just out of reach. He has consistently been close, collecting multiple second places four runner-up finishes already while also taking a stage win at the Tour of Oman. That level of consistency suggests he is doing a lot right, and in a Giro field where sprint opportunities can be chaotic, he absolutely has the potential to fight for podiums and possibly even a breakthrough win.
This will be an important test of his level in a Grand Tour context, but based on current form, he should not be underestimated.
Punchier Sprints / Transitional Terrain
For tougher sprint stages or rolling terrain, Uno-X have several intriguing alternatives:
Fredrik Dversnes remains a reliable option for selective finishes. While his season has not been spectacular, his profile suits those awkward Giro stages where the pure sprinters are dropped and versatility becomes crucial.
Then there is Sakarias Koller Løland one of the more interesting wildcard names in the team. He may not be an obvious stage favorite, but on transitional days, reduced sprints, or selective breakaways, he has the kind of punch that could make him dangerous. He feels like exactly the sort of rider who could surprise on a stage that others overlook.
Mountain Breakaways / Aggressive Racing
Adne Holter showed encouraging signs earlier in the Spanish races this season and could be a dangerous rider in mountainous breakaways.
Andreas Leknessund, freed from GC pressure, also becomes much more interesting. His experience, endurance, and ability to survive difficult terrain make him a logical candidate for long-range stage hunting.
Martin Tjøtta did well in Oman and is another name for those breakaways on mountain days.
Final Verdict
Uno-X’s Giro strategy looks clear:
* Erlend Blikra→ Flat sprints, podiums, possible surprise stage win
* Fredrik Dversnes→ Punchier sprint stages, reduced finishes
* Sakarias Koller Løland → Transitional stages, selective groups, breakaway wildcard
* Andreas Leknessund / Adne Holter and Martin Tjøtta → Mountain breakaways, opportunistic stage hunting
Overall Assessment
Uno-X are unlikely to define this Giro through GC, but they absolutely have the profile of a team that can animate the race. Their best path to success is through breakaways, tactical aggression, and targeting the right stages rather than trying to control races.
If they race boldly which is usually their identity this is a team that could very realistically leave the Giro with a memorable stage win. They may not be among the headline teams, but they have enough versatile weapons to be dangerous throughout all three weeks.

Lipowitz finishes 2nd behind Pogacar, after probably the best climbing performance of his career (I have to check). I hope we'll see him finishing like this also in TDF.
#TDR2026
@NairoInGreen He's down to do Tour of Slovenia as his TdF warmup race. Probably no harm to send him to a smaller race where he can get a stage/GC win under his belt. A man of his climbing calibre deserves more wins on his palmares (similar to THJ actually)
🗣️ "I'm super happy. It's one of my best wins. The guys did everything for me."
@DorianGodon talks us through his path to victory and a true team effort on stage three at #TDR2026 👊
Veldig bra resultat.
@BenjiNaesen One of the great last-day team raids I've seen in a while. Really hoping THJ can push forward this year after a very promising spring season so far
Today's masterclass by Uno-X can not be understated. 👏
Moving into the Top 10 of GC from the breakaway is usually a Week 3 activity in a Grand Tour, but Uno-X brought Tobias Halland Johannessen from P11 onto the podium, in the final stage of #Itzulia2026. 📈
THJ har passert 1000 UCI-poeng 11.april! Han har vært topp ti 15 ganger i år! Femten ganger!! Nå mangler bare seieren, og den må da komme med denne formen her. 1041 UCI-poeng. 60 poeng mer enn WT-laget Picnic PostNL. Klassesyklist!
Alexander Kamp (Uno-X Mobility) WINS stage 3 of Région Pays de la Loire Tour in the beautiful Sainte-Suzanne-et-Chammes from a 5-rider group, they made it just in front of the peloton! 👏🇩🇰 Check the chateau view they had before the sprint. 😍

This is hopelessness at its absolute peak. Florian Vermeersch is rightfully furious. It was already clear that something fishy was going on when, with 2k to go, the group took noticeably shorter stints at the back, yet they still closed the gap to van der Poel. But for all four of them to stop at once on the verge of an almost unprecedented opportunity is an example of unparalleled irresponsibility and selfishness.
Mathieu van der Poel wins the E3 Saxo Classic for the third time, but there’s plenty to discuss here, whether you want to look at the small or the big picture. I’ll have plenty to analyze about this in the box on Monday...

I will write more about Antonio Tiberi in next week's newsletter, because today's victory may have been the beginning of his redemption from a sporting point of view, but what we saw from the two main contenders today was much more interesting.
Especially from Del Toro. I wasn't that surprised by Remco, I thought he would concede some time, maybe not this much, but it was within the realm of possibilities. However, the way Isaac raced could foreshadow two things in the longer term - although, given the special nature of the mountain, even I am treating these with relative caution:
1. We are seeing a new phase in Isaac del Toro's coming-of-age story, where the "never say never" rock and roll attitude is being replaced by something better, a much more mature, sensible, almost Vingegaardesque approach, which motivated and guided him on this climb.
2. Or perhaps he has actually resolved to become a quasi Aliexpress Joao Almeida this year, which, in the long run, would not do his competitive identity any good at all.
Needless to say, I hope for the first option – but it will be months before we get an answer.

Victory for Christophe Laporte on his first race of the year, that was a smart sprint with top positioning. 👍Meanwhile the big favourite Waerenskjold was caught behind and came too late, 4th behind Tronchon and Oliver. #72RdS
