I am a Data Analyst for one of the world's largest IT companies. When I am not working I spend a lot of time hiking and birding around Cape Breton Island.

We conquered the Cabot Trail 🎊🎉🍻. We made so many memories during our walks, but my favorites are walking up Smokey Mountain with 100km winds and having Tammy's Dad walk and conqueror North and MacKenzie Mountain with us. #cabottrail #visitcapebreton

I sat in the middle of the woods last night to record some woodcocks. I got lucky and had this one land 20 feet in front of me in the dark. The snow certainly does not seem to bother them. American Woodcock Sydney, Cape Breton, NS 8 PM on April 4, 2023 #ShareYourWeather

Not everything that swims like a duck is a duck. You can sometimes find American Coots swimming with ducks but they have long toes instead of webbed feet which help them walk on dry land. Cape Breton, NS, October 2022 #birds #birdwatching #birdphotography #Nikon

This is one of the coolest animals I have ever come across in the wild, a Pine Marten. They are rarely seen in Nova Scotia and are endangered. Cape Breton Highlands, October 2022 #speciesatrisk

Here is my favorite bird find for the month of October 2022 was this Marsh Wren in Edwardsville. This is the first documented sighting for Cape Breton although there may have been others not recorded.

@mcgruff101 Wasn't there a second one spotted in Alaska in the spring? Thanks for the map.

Yellow Warbler singing to the world on a glorious spring day. I recorded his song and put it in his bubble. 😁
