I am a Data Analyst for one of the world's largest IT companies. When I am not working I spend a lot of time hiking and birding around Cape Breton Island.

We conquered the Cabot Trail 🎊🎉🍻. We made so many memories during our walks, but my favorites are walking up Smokey Mountain with 100km winds and having Tammy's Dad walk and conqueror North and MacKenzie Mountain with us.

I sat in the middle of the woods last night to record some woodcocks. I got lucky and had this one land 20 feet in front of me in the dark. The snow certainly does not seem to bother them.

Not everything that swims like a duck is a duck.
You can sometimes find American Coots swimming with ducks but they have long toes instead of webbed feet which help them walk on dry land.

This is one of the coolest animals I have ever come across in the wild, a Pine Marten. They are rarely seen in Nova Scotia and are endangered.

The Bicknell's Thrush only nest in high-elevation forests and there are only a few areas in Canada they breed. They are listed as a Species at Risk and endangered in Nova Scotia.
