1/2 Our fishery officers in #BC work side by side with the Council of the Haida Nation's Fishery Guardians to patrol the beaches of Haida Gwaii. Together, they monitor and protect one of Canada's most treasured ecosystems for the benefit of generations to come.

High seas rescue: successful! The CCGS Sir Wilfrid Laurier recently conducted a #SearchAndRescue operation in the Bering Sea. The @USCG Arctic District relayed that a broken down vessel with 3 Canadians onboard required rescuing.

2/3 This project is carried out in collaboration with the Comité ZIP des Îles-de-la Madeleine, which has been conducting annual green crab control captures in the lagoons since 2023.

1/3 Our biologists are in the Magdalen Islands to evaluate the effectiveness of green crab control techniques. Green crabs are an invasive species found in some of the archipelago's lagoons.
