Im sorry @SimonCalder this is just plain scaremongering. We have travelled at least 20 times to Spain since 2019. Yes we have our passport stamped but that’s where it stops Never once have we been asked where, when, how we are staying, if we have a return ticket. Not once and we fly in to Malaga, usually 5 of us.
Simon Calder@SimonCalder

Spain this summer? Staying with family/friends? You'll need a Carta de Invitación (takes several weeks and costs £70+). Financial resources: each UK visitor needs access to at least £862. Not “new rules”: existing requirements that we asked to apply to us. independent.co.uk/travel/news-an…

@theAliceRoberts Well, we now that large parts of the science was either flaky, biased , not evidence based and conflicting. If anything the pandemic shows the need to question the science very carefully!

Arrogant much? "if I thought it wouldn't work, I'd take another decision" Based on what evidence? Some kind of personal hunch? Given that science is the best way we have of understanding the world around us...
Farrukh@implausibleblog

Hugo Keith, "Weren't you meant to be following the science?" Matt Hancock, "No, I was meant to be guided by the science. But if I thought it wouldn't work, I'd take another decision" #CovidInquiry

I'm very pleased to have had my COVID vaccination today - having had 3 vaccines before, and having had COVID 3 times too, I know this year's vaccine will protect me from the worst of this virus and help protect others too.

So far @UKLabour has said it will: - favour developers' profits & ride roughshod over communities (side with the builders not the 'blockers') - build on green belt - compulsory purchase land with a 2-tier system that failed before - threaten wildlife with right-to-roam

A very good question. To which I’ve seen few convincing or comprehensive answers. But Twitter’s grasp of economics is legendary so no doubt we’ll now be educated …
martynday@martynday

@afneil Wonder what is so special about the UK that inflation is sticking to the nations hips and inner thighs?

@carolvorders This is all rather hysterical isn't it? Non dom status is part of our tax law - voted on and never changed, the separation of individuals and companies and prepackaged administrations is absolutely normal and Kier Starmer apologised for 8 equivalent failures of interest last year

'If we say people in council houses should pay a bedroom tax for under-occupying. Let's have a proper bedroom tax in the private sector.’ @JohnMcTernan suggests a bedroom tax on privately owned homes to ease pressure on the housing market. 🤔 Do you think it's a good idea?

@MattHancock @RishiSunak What complete rubbish and a huge overreaction. Any sensible person can see there is growing evidence to question the used of undertested mRNA gene theraphy. This should be researched and debated. The overreaction suggests some serious concern from the " vaccine" promoters.

The disgusting and dangerous anti-semitic, anti-vax, anti-scientific conspiracy theories spouted by a sitting MP this morning are unacceptable and have absolutely no place in our society My question to @RishiSunak in PMQs👇

@theAliceRoberts As the NHS is so inefficient more of the money would be wasted than in the private sector

I can’t help thinking - all this cash being given to private healthcare companies to “help” the NHS - wouldn’t it much, much more efficient to give it directly to… the NHS. Where there are no shareholders taking profits?

If you want to see what the future of the Conservatives is when we don’t build homes, look at London. Our collapsing vote in the capital is at least in part because you can’t make the case for popular Conservatism if you can’t afford to buy, or even rent.

With Labour going for stricter approach on immigration, there’s definitely space for a fiscally conservative, socially liberal party in British politics. One that is prepared to carry out the necessary supply side reforms: liberalise planning, more immigration, cut tax.
