6. Anaheim Ducks Top 5 Skater Prospects: Gauthier, McQueen, Sennecke, Zellweger and Luneau The Ducks pool is relatively solid throughout. Top 5 has some good reasonable potential in it. The depth is good. The goalie prospects look favorable. Interestingly, since Verbeek has taken over he has prioritized size and less star potential. McQueen, Sennecke, Gauthier are examples of this. While trading away Drysdale and Zegras and possibly Zellweger next. The pool is good as you'd expect as Anaheim hasn't been good since around 2017. But probably should be a top 5 pool... if it had more star potential to it... given where the Ducks have been choosing the last 5-6 years (2019: 9th; 2020: 6th; 2021: 3rd; 2022: 10th; 2023: 2nd; 2024: 3rd; 2025: 10th). Not exactly sure what the direction is in Anaheim. But they've been bad for long enough that they should be pulling out of it by now... but do they have the right pieces/mix to make some noise. I'm still skeptical.

I finished #Andor and I can confidently say that it isn’t only the best thing to come out of Star Wars since disney acquired it. It’s also one of the best shows of all time. The amount of detail that is given to every plot line and character is astonishing. A true masterpiece.

Some more context for the Lacombe hype: In 2025 he's been playing 23.5 minutes a night, the Ducks' #1 defenceman in terms of TOI by far. These are match-up minutes too with pretty heavy d-zone starts. Ducks have a 52% goal and xGoal share with him on, 43% and 39% with him off.

Ducks pick up 3 of a possible 12 points on this road trip. 1-4-1 record. Out-scored: 24-8 Out-shot: 206-155 Shut out in 3 out of 6 games. Disastrous. Verbeek can't stand pat. Coaching change needed.

And there is the full confirmation. Zellweger has been one of the most impactful D men this season and Helleson also was extremely good and both are in the press box. Seems like that internal competition line is only applying to the younger D men right now
