@Capt_Fishpaste I don’t think he elbows players, cuts keepers heads open and smashes ligaments every game Michael but nice try
English

One of my favourite things about watching Brian Brobbey play is that moment of realisation in opponents when they discover they're not even strong enough to foul him, never mind compete with him 😂
This was a perfect example.

@TheSpursWatch Never a red card man.

@safcann1967 Hello Ann.
It’s good to hear from you! 😊😊😊
I went back on Facebook recently and you didn’t have an ‘add friend’ button. Add me 👍
I’m doing alright. How are you? X

@JoshuaGibson88 @NathanA69934452 @MickyBtoon I think they’ve always been a toxically entitled bunch, certainly since the Keegan days back in the 90s.
English

@NathanA69934452 @MickyBtoon Exactly. When Ashley owned the club they all came tg wanting him out and it was respectable everyone was rooting for them. Now instead of being happy he’s gone they expect more and more and more. Getting greedy
English

@NorsmanLuther @Sports_fanatik1 @TheAthleticFC That’s what many Sunderland fans said about us getting promoted to the prem. Now look at us.
I just think, ‘grab the chance while you can’. You can’t choose when to qualify for Europe or get promoted.
I’d be happy to just stay clear of a relegation battle this season though.
English

Sunderland were losing 1-0 at home to Wigan Athletic in League One, five years ago this week. Wigan were bottom.
Inside the club, those days, those years, will always offer context. Now they are sixth in the Premier League but this month brings daunting games against Liverpool, Manchester City, Newcastle United and Brighton.
But whatever happens in December 2025, it is not December 2020.
Over the past fortnight, @mwalker2771 spoke exclusively with the three key decision-makers at the club — chairman Kyril Louis-Dreyfus, director of football Florent Ghisolfi and sporting director Speakman — to assess where Sunderland are, where they have come from and where they can go.

Our economy isn’t working. It’s built on lies: the myth of growth, the myth that profit comes before people, and the myth that wealth is more important than fairness. If we want a sustainable society, we need a new moral code for the economy.
In this video, I set out ten commandments for a just economy - principles that put people before profit, justice before greed, and sustainability before growth.
These commandments demand:
- People before profit
- Fair rewards for work
- Inclusion, not exclusion
- Respect for the earth
- Finance that serves life
- Fair taxation
- Transparency and accountability
- Measuring what really matters
This is a manifesto for a fair and sustainable economy. One we could all be proud to live in.

@BeormasSpam @jimthegiant British culture was on its knees by the end of a 14 year conservative government
English

The whole “you get more conservative as you get older” thing only worked when people had something to conserve
Boomers became Tories to protect their inflating house prices
My generation got rug-pulled.. no homes, no savings, no reason to become economic right-wingers
Boreal Wanderer@Boreal_Wanderer
@jimthegiant That's not how it works. People tend to become more right wing as they get older, gain more life experience and become less idealistic. The idea that the right is going to "die off" is wrong.
English

@TheSteveDawson @official_bottom Do you mind? I am a respectable man!
English

@WiseMenSayPod I don’t think he really had time for much decision making. He went on instinct, which is serving him very well.
English

@JamesTr85061420 @jimthegiant I agree we need to focus on rebuilding our communities, but disagree about taking the power from the government (because they haven’t got the power).
The government is being bankrupted by the wealthy. All of the governments assets are being stripped. Look at the NHS & services.
English

@mckellar_paul @jimthegiant I personally think we need to focus on re-building our communities more than anything. Take the power away from governments and give it back to the community. It would help fixing a lot of issues socially and we’d support each other again. This is the biggest thing.
English

I see statements like this a lot from capitalists, they are so close to realising. But their anti leftism blinds them
Capitalism at this current point is unable to provide enough quality jobs. State assured employment of high quality jobs & some form of UBI will be inevitable
Lauren Chen@TheLaurenChen
I don't think it's fair that young people today have to compete against the entire planet for housing and jobs.
English

@JamesTr85061420 @jimthegiant I think people either play the game on a smaller scale, or become a victim of the game - succumbing to the difficulty of the lower end of our economic system.
English

@mckellar_paul @jimthegiant You’re right, you need wealth to have power I suppose.
I’d disagree with whether they have a choice of the game though. Most people start playing it on a small level and then start playing it on a bigger level. Most just don’t know the rules because they don’t want you to
English

A little poem I did for Dickie Bird; I read it on @BBCYorkshire this afternoon. I wanted it to be loving and sentimental, like Dickie was.

English

@JamesTr85061420 @jimthegiant I don’t believe most people have a choice of whether to play the game or not.
I agree power is also the goal.
Wealth is power in many ways.
English

@mckellar_paul @jimthegiant Corruption is obviously a problem but I don’t think that goes away if we got rid of capitalism?
I don’t think it’s just wealth as the goal, it’s control.
We are all playing the game but people just choose to ignore that.
English

@JamesTr85061420 @jimthegiant The wealthy capitalists have bought politicians into corruption to help them become wealthier.
Think Rupert Murdoch, for example. The rich run the show and capitalism is their game.
Unless you’re a multimillionaire or billionaire, then you’re also their game.
English

@jimthegiant Capitalism isn’t the problem. It’s the government getting in the way of it. Give people economic freedom. Literally look at all the successful countries out there. Stop making not working pay so much
I know it’s so simple people assume it is just capitalism but it’s incompetence
English

It’s this exactly

More Perfect Union@MorePerfectUS
U.S. billionaires reached a record breaking $7.6 trillion in wealth as of September 2025, an increase of $4.7 trillion in the less than eight years. Most of that wealth hasn’t been taxed and won’t be taxed under our current system — per @4TaxFairness.
English

@GraceGym_ He simply pulled the plug out to drain the water. Look at the plug lever 😆
English

@JamesCopley_ Saying that, though. Isidor has undoubtedly earned a starting place. I think he’d catch defences out from the bench more easily.
English

@JamesCopley_ I think Isidor is suited to an impact sub role in this league. As a starter, playing 70 minutes, I feel he might get found out. As a late sub, he’s fast and unpredictable.
I’d start Brobby due to his physical presence. See how he gets on, using the other 2 from the bench.
English

🤔 Who would you start up front for Sunderland against Crystal Palace, providing everyone is fit?
