Interesting post. Guy gets his MacBook stolen, gives the GPS address to the police, the police does nothing. The guy complains on Twitter, people reply that the police has better to do than recovering a $1.5k laptop, and *this is key* the tweet below points out that such crimes are mostly done by professionals, so the expected value of catching them isn’t $1.5k but their lifetime thefts.
