How old are the people in The Bear supposed to be? I think Richie says he’s 45, so I’d assume he and Mikey and Fack are the same age, but how old are Carmy/Claire and Sydney supposed to be?

@bardsbesidebars @quidditch424 Yeah, great observation on what was undercutting that. She felt like a thematic/character means to an end, not like a real person who was showing up for this situationship — while all the other relationships in the show are so intimate. Really made it hard to be invested.

@quidditch424 Claire was a thematically important role to point to how and where Carmy needs to continue working on himself but the onscreen portrayal of the character and the relationship with Carmy was not close to the level of the rest of the season imo. Still an amazing season tho!

@ubeislife @Selena__Nina I love the intimacy of Syd and Camry but it’s not romantic at all. I do think the juxtaposition of scenes where S & C have real intimacy (platonically) with C & C’s just like … too close for comfort but somehow also shallow dialogue is just painful.

@DilrabaWishList @taylorgraysen It’s driving me nuts. The camera wants me to think these two have intimacy, but the script and performances seem so trite. I really want to relate to the early relationship vibes but I just can’t, it’s so disconnected compared to the other characters‘ interactions

@taylorgraysen idk their relationship is so under-written...unfortunate the bear doesn't know how to do romance...or they're intentionally doing it to later build up another relationship of Carmy's.
