$ASTS this is getting wild. Short interest at record highs at 66.7M which is a $5B short at $75. Short volume is making up roughly half of the volume everyday with some days making up the majority of the volume.
More and more it’s becoming apparent that ASTS is being targeted. Even in pre market you can see signs of it with nearly every space stock this morning up 3-6% while ASTS struggles to hold at 1%.

$ASTS: There are a lot of people on X that are nervous about AST.
I am not one of them.
I've been through so many of these drawdowns that it doesn't faze me (hasn't for years).
What I do know is that AST has unlocked so much value in the past few months that the current $28B valuation makes this a *very* attractive buy.
And before you say anything, yes, I am aware their cadence at getting sats in orbit is behind their previously reported guidance.
I know because I have been very critical of this point as well.
That being said, the stock is currently priced as though the next SpaceX launch has already failed and that getting 25 or more birds on orbit that are generating revenue is somehow a failure.
This is overkill. The chart says we're about to explode upwards of $150-170 later this summer. At least that's my read based on the key indicators I follow, but you should make your own judgement.
I've added the past two days as the Street hyperventilates over analysts' arbitrary quarterly EPS and revenue estimate misses. Just more breathless exuberance as far as I'm concerned.

$ASTS after reclaiming the 200sma at the close on Friday and jumping above the 20sma today, it wasted no time racing towards the 50sma and the rising trend. MACD crossed over into bullish momentum.
We'll need the RSI (14) to break above 60 to confirm a breakout, something it fails to do when there's fake-outs. Currently it's in the mid 50s and will probably need a another day or few to achieve an impulsive reading if we get one.
The 2nd chart is a study on RSI (14) since all time low. Any RSI prints under 38 have not been sustainable and has marked significant lows. Printing above 60 on the RSI has been accompanied with each rally, and sustaining over this level has resulted in the best rallies.
Bearish divergence has marked nearly every peak as well, and sustaining below 60 level has triggered or occurred during every drawdown as seen in the latest drawdown since Jan 30th, which was also the same day as the all time high.
Normally, when we see the RSI sustain under 60 for longer periods of time like late August 2024-February 2025 and again in March 2025-June 2025, it's in the context of accumulation/supportive bases being formed that precede larger and longer duration breakouts.
