As for the 30% adoption number — fair observation, wrong conclusion. Transformative technologies don't follow straight adoption curves. The internet looked like an expensive, slow, niche curiosity to a lot of very smart people in 1996.

I don't usually respond to opinion pieces. But this one deserves a reply. Two former economists from the Biden White House wrote in the New York Times that blockchain is essentially "a painfully slow and expensive database." Their conclusion: with the most crypto-friendly administration in history now in office and adoption still stuck around 30% of Americans for four years running, the industry has run out of excuses.

When logic and price action are pointing in opposite directions, gut takes aren't analysis. The macro backdrop says crypto should be under pressure. The institutional inflows say someone disagrees — loudly. That tension between "what should be" and "what is" has always been crypto's personality. Not a bug. Never was. Usually every asset tells you something. Crypto is telling you it hasn't decided yet.

It's down roughly 50% from its October peak — and yet ETF inflows are topping $1.1 billion this month. The market is simultaneously retreating and reloading. Nobody actually knows why. It could be capital flight into an asset that doesn't need a passport, short squeezes, pure speculation — take your pick. To answer it properly, you'd need forensic analysis of the actual flows, not just a read of the headlines. I won't pretend this is a thesis.
