@elonmusk It doesn’t really matter how many pretty pictures of women it can make if it can’t change my stairway newel post to a different style or create a picture of a new guest bathroom upstairs!

...In his confirmation, Roberts declared that “judges are like umpires…Nobody ever went to a ballgame to see the umpire.” The problem is that the rules are being broken and, worst yet, people are indeed coming to the Court “to see the umpires.”

@imPenny2x “They will make everything so cheap, it is effectively free.” It’s been many, many decades since pricing was based on the actual cost of creating something. Everyone wants a cut.

99% of people really do not understand abundance as Elon describes it. The fundamental reason is that they don’t understand compound growth. Same people who would probably pick 1 million dollars today over a penny that doubles in value every day for 30 days. It’s a bad choice by the way. You lose out on millions. Imagine if that doubling object was a labor producing robot instead of a penny. Compounding labor. It’s actually crazy if you try and wrap your mind around it. So Elon mentions Universl High Income and the midwits flip a lid. “The elites won’t share” You don’t get it. They won’t need to share. They will make everything so cheap, it is effectively free. Charities will have immense resources to distribute. Unfathomable intelligence will exist to help optimize production and distribution. An unfathomably large labor pool will exist that operates on solar power exclusively. The public work projects that are erected will be unseen before levels of breathtaking. I think we are incredibly blessed to steward this new age of abundance. Can you see it now? Can you see the future?

Horrible seeing Elina Vähälä’s $1-million Guadagnini violin get knocked out of her hands by conductor Matthew Halls. Halls was fired by the Oregon Bach Festival in 2017 for "alleged discrimination against women and a person of color", maybe a second chance for him was a bad idea.

@mamboitaliano__ It’s funny how the political rhetoric only goes one way. The Catholic Church has controlled people for centuries by convincing them they cannot question the Church. This power is used to steal land, money, and children.

@Du_dggg Americans could learn a lesson from the French on family togetherness centered on cooking and meal times. Americans haven’t done this in decades.

@Architectolder It’s a cluster F of an architectural design, for sure, but the windows on the second story tower have the same wood mullins as the rest of the house that look original.

Unusual style. Looks like the tower was added in a remodel. I am undecided on this one, perhaps it is the paint scheme.

Really? I disagree. Here’s why… The SNAP payment error rate reflects how accurately states make eligibility and benefit determinations for participating households: It is not a measure of fraud. Meanwhile, the national payment error rate for fiscal year (FY) 2024 is 10.93%. While not a measure of program fraud, this rate indicates an unacceptable amount of waste occurring at the state level . Payment errors include: administrative mistakes, honest reporting errors, overpayments and underpayments NOT intentional fraud. The FBI fraud data that was cited is real and verifiable: The 0.16 per 100K for California and 16.15 for Maryland come from the FBI Crime Data Explorer’s National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS), Offense Code 26D, covering calendar years 2021 through 2025. This measures actual fraud incidents - intentional deception - not administrative errors. Your statement that “CA has highest absolute claims” is deliberately misleading: Yes, California has high absolute numbers - because it has 39 million people. That’s like saying “California has the most cars” and pretending it means Californians drive more. The per-capita rate is what matters. And California ranks 45th at just 0.16 per 100K. Pennsylvania’s per-capita rate is 28 times higher than California’s. On actual fraud (not errors), the data is clear: USDA’s FY2024 national payment error rate was 10.93%; the department and Congressional Research Service note that the official measures do not capture every kind of trafficking or electronic theft and that “SNAP fraud is rare” by some longstanding metrics. You want me to believe errors = fraud so that way California looks worse. I’m not buying it and it’s dishonest framing to defend Shirley’s politically motivated target selection. A classic bait and switch. 🤦‍♀️
