@davidwmueller @JoeTLudwig @deusimpera If you’re applying the full moral weight of murder to abortion of a fetus with no heartbeat, by using the same standards to consider that full life that you would a plant, then that does not make humans special in any sense. Life is life all the time, with the same weight.

If someone killed me before my heartbeat started, I would not be typing right now. Humans remain mostly "potential" for a long time.

The biological process starts at conception, but it’s not a human person in a moral sense IMO until first heartbeat. Before heartbeat it’s basically a plant with the potential of full human life.

In response to the Pope’s anti-war statements, the Pentagon summoned his ambassador and told him that the U.S. has the military power to do “whatever it wants” and that the Catholic Church had better fall in line. As a Christian, as a Protestant, as an American I find this evil.

That’s my point. “Give unto Ceasar what is Ceasar’s and unto God what is God’s” Jesus said there will always be wars and rumors of war, but it’s not for us to worry about them. Our concern is to grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ and to let Him sort out the details of life. It requires faith and faith requires Biblical instruction. That is the job of our pastors and priests. And the pope is just a priest who’s been elevated into that position by men.

I find it offensive that the pope doesn’t acknowledge that salvation is through faith alone in Christ alone. That is the crux of Christianity. The pope seems more concerned with politics than with spreading the gospel. Governments will do what governments will do. They come and go, but Jesus Christ is forever and we are His ambassadors. Our citizenship is in heaven. The pope may forget that, but I won’t.
