Fake @Nike Store in Harare👇 They're even using the Swoosh. There is a real risk of image and reputation damage with this, if Zimbabwe is seen to be flouting intellectual property rules like this. Nike say they know nothing about a Zim Nike Store, so the Nike imports will probably be fake Nikes from China that currently floods out flea markets, @mimmitwit @matigary @Mavhure

After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC. May God bless America.

In Zimbabwe, I was accused by a journalist of being paid by the regime, and everyone believed him. In reality, I paid every dollar myself to showcase the country’s beauty. When he later discovered the truth, he apologized to me in private, not in public—but people continue to push the same narrative without a single piece of proof, and it’s getting annoying.

There's a clear distinction between the two artists. One is a fundamentally solid musician whose work and performances garner authentic, organic support. The other, lacking that inherent traction, must fabricate rivalries—specifically 'beef' with the first—to drive ticket sales. In this scenario, only one is the true GOAT.

Congratulations to everyone who made it to 2026. As my late father would have said, there are so many people who wanted to cross the line into 2026, but some did not make it. “Kune vakawanda vaida kunge vari vapenyu muzuva ranhasi mwanangu, asi zvakaramba,” he always used to say to me when reminding me of how blessed I was to be alive. We should therefore consider ourselves blessed to have arrived here. I wish you all a 2026 full of life, full of good health, and full of prosperity. In life, we often get what we give. If you give kindness, you receive kindness. If you give evil, you will encounter evil in one way or another. If you are unnecessarily nasty to other people, I believe that somewhere along the line there is a force that makes you account for it. You might think that you are superior or powerful, but even the most powerful people, guarded by soldiers, driven in limousines, and surrounded by convoys, can wake up one day to devastating news that a grandchild has died, a child has died, or someone very close to them has passed away. Pain has a way of finding its way to everyone, often reflecting how we treat others. My advice to you all in 2026 is simple. Be kind to everyone. Do not be nasty to people who have done nothing wrong to you. Respect yourself by respecting others. Being evil, being cruel, and being unnecessarily harsh to other people creates nothing but a debt of misery that will be paid at some point in your life. You lose nothing by being nice, by being cordial, by being respectful, and by giving whenever you can. Lift others up instead of pulling them down. Across our countries and across the continent, there are many people who, regardless of how educated they are, even with PhDs, hate to see others succeed. They gossip, they spread rumours and lies, and they work tirelessly to pull others down. They want to be the centre of attention, even in conversations where they do not allow others to speak. That behaviour is not strength, it is a sign of deep insecurity and moral weakness. Remove that spirit from your life. Be a good human being, and good things will come to you. You lose absolutely nothing by helping others become better in life. Gossiping and speaking ill of people who have done nothing wrong to you is not intelligence, it is weakness. Education does not always cure evil. There are educated evil people and uneducated evil people, just as there are educated good people and uneducated good people. There are people who see nothing good in others. There are people who show up simply to say nasty things where it is not even necessary. When someone speaks about their life, their work, or their children, some people respond with bitterness and cruelty. Do not be that person. Do not be the person who is resented by others for always being negative, for always finding something nasty to say. When you behave like that, you are feeding darkness. If you cannot see goodness in others, if you cannot uplift others, you are choosing a destructive path. Do not live your life that way. Being a devil worshipper does not mean kneeling down and praying to Satan. It means doing bad things to other people, deliberately and without remorse. It means enjoying harm, humiliation, and negativity. Reject that way of living. Witchcraft is not just the mythical stories we grew up hearing. Witchcraft is a state of mind. Do not be a witch to others. Be a ray of hope and a light in dark corners. Bring love, not hatred. Lift people up, do not pull them down. Make 2026 the year in which you consciously choose to do good to others. I can assure you that the blessings will be immense, and you will see them manifest in your life. Clap for those doing well, help those who are less fortunate, lift them up. Be known as someone who is kind, decent, forgiving, and humane. We all make mistakes. What matters is not the mistakes we made in 2025, but what we learned from them. Learn from those mistakes so that 2026 becomes a better year for you and for everyone around you. As my late mother would always say, if you learned nothing from your mistakes over the last ten years, it means you lost ten years of your life. Be a force of positive energy, not negativity. Do not be that person whose arrival drains a room. Be someone whose presence brings calm, warmth, and encouragement. I wish you all a great 2026, a healthy 2026, and above all, a prosperous 2026. More life to you all.

This investigation by @CiteZW is very important and must be read by every Zimbabwean who cares about the country. The President of Zimbabwe’s Senate, Mable Chinomona, has acted with shocking irresponsibility by spending US$400,000 of taxpayers money upgrading her private residence. She did this at a time when hospitals in Zimbabwe have no medicines, citizens are going to bed on empty stomachs, and young people are roaming the streets unemployed and without hope. This is a painful and damning illustration of how detached the political elite have become from the suffering of ordinary people. Well done to CiteZW for exposing this rot and holding those in power to account.
CITE@citezw

Public funds, private luxury? Parliament splurged nearly US$400,000 upgrading Senate President Mabel Chinomona’s private home from US$64k curtains to luxury beds, appliances & vases while bypassing tender laws, a CITE investigation reveals. Flagged by the Auditor-General. Suppliers handpicked. Oversight under scrutiny. cite.org.zw/parliament-spe…

You, @Cde_MMChinomona, are an ultimate embarrassment to Zimbabwe, including ZANUPF. How can the President of the Senate of an entire country involve herself in a radio station’s fun poll about Person of the Year while more than 2,500 women are dying during childbirth, the biggest hospital has only one maternity theatre, the whole country has no single working radiotherapy cancer treatment machine, unemployment stands at over 90 per cent, citizens receive only two to four hours of electricity per day, and the country is facing an open succession war. You are determined to embarrass not only the country but also your boss and the President by publicly fighting over a radio station poll. This is political and media illiteracy of the highest order. ZIFM is a youth radio station. Its audience is largely young and unemployed people. It is therefore natural that its listeners would relate to and support Fadzayi Mahere, a young lawyer they see as speaking to their lived realities and struggles. Have some shame, Madam, and focus on statecraft, not radio polls. For the President of a country’s Senate to threaten a radio presenter with persecution over a light-hearted poll is a new low for Zimbabwe. It reflects a complete lack of emotional intelligence, a deep misunderstanding of media and youth culture, and political bankruptcy. Shame on you. For the avoidance of doubt, I had not seen your tweet. A regional foreign affairs minister asked me what is going on. Stop this childish four year old behaviour. You have sunk from the gutter into the sewer. You are internationalising your lack of common sense and embarrassing yourself on a global stage. A whole ruling party getting hot under the collar over a fun radio poll? Shame on you. To quote Fadzayi Mahere, Zimbabwe needs new and mature leaders, not skunks like you, ma’am.
