@NFL_STats_R_Us @FB_FilmAnalysis ...and also because they have Nick Emmanwori doing his best Kyle Hamilton imitation. When your nickel package includes a guy with good coverage skills who's as big as a linebacker, it creates possibilities.

@FB_FilmAnalysis Because they have the best interior defensive tackle duo in the NFL in Leonard Williams & Byron Murphy II. Not to mention Demarcus Lawrence 😮‍💨
NFL STats R Us@NFL_STats_R_Us

#Seahawks Defense is anchored by 2 monsters in the middle. Leonard Williams (My DT4) & Byron Murphy II (DT6) 108 Pressures (2nd) 17 Sacks (2nd) 77 Defensive Stops (1st) They’ll feast against Jared Wilson & Garrett Bradbury

@theStevenRuiz That’s funny Steven, you sort of acknowledged that Darnold is good but couldn’t use his name. That’s progress.

just build the Seahawks defense and hire Mike Macdonald and draft JSN and get that good/above average QB on a below market deal and you can make it work!

"NFL teams have decided that if you aren't Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen, you're not good enough. ... NFL teams have all decided that having a good quarterback isn't good enough. They've allowed perfect to become the enemy of good." —@Espngreeny on QB development in the NFL

@BenjaminSolak Famously, the over/under on wins for this team was 7.5. Now they're headed to the Super Bowl.

What an enormous, enormous achievement from the Seahawks. Enormous roster turnover this year. Every offseason move -- free agent, trade, draft -- was nails. The Kubiak hire was an unbelievable lift. A truly perfect two-year build from Mike Macdonald.

@BenjaminSolak Teams keep trying to run on the Seahawks in those situations. Arguably, against this defense, that's a passing down.

@sama My number-one request for Chat-GPT is simple: allow me to change my login email! My account is locked to an email account from a company that no longer exists. I'm dreading the day I get a 2FA prompt when logging in and lose all access to my chat history.

@theStevenRuiz I’m an unbiased third party who is a fan of no team but Darnold needs to be top 10 in the next edition of The Ringer’s QB Rankings (not a Seattle fan (unbiased (third party)))

@emollick Related point - search Google or LinkedIn for "AI transformation" jobs and they're all run by IT. Transformation isn't all about tech, it's also about people, and IT is poorly equipped to manage that transition well.

The big weak spot of AI discussion on X is that is dominated by technology experts & computer scientists I buy that they know more about the underlying technology than anyone else, but I do not think they necessarily have the same insights into what AI means for work & society

@ARCDigiFuture They can't laugh with friends, or have their heart broken - true. Still, my mind goes back to that study in which patients rated ChatGPT more empathetic than human doctors. At some point the simulation of humanity becomes good enough that there's no meaningful difference.

Hey writers: GOOD NEWS! AI isn't replacing you yet. It turns out Claude is a better writer than 95% of humans, but not better than you. LLMs are content beasts, neural networks with brain-like activity and reasoning power. But, do you know what they can't do? They can't laugh with friends, or have their heart broken by a cutie. They will never hold a child, or be left out at recess. They'll never be you. Since they can't experience pain and pleasure, they can't understand action and consequence. More coming sooooooooon! I had a great time in my first "no edit" AI short story writing exercise. Still working on the full write-up.

@emollick Short-term impacts will largely be executives with a mostly theoretical understanding of AI's current capabilities overreacting in the direction of job loss. Longer-term, we'll all be using AI and will need to keep learning as the models evolve. Very long term = speculative.

The sooner we pivot the critical discussion away from “the issue with AI is that it is isn’t broadly useful to many jobs” to “what are the implications of AI being broadly useful to many jobs,” the sooner we can start to mitigate negative impacts & focus on positive use cases

@turbotax Your software autofilled the wrong state (CA, should be WA) on my 1099-INT and now it's blocking me from e-filing because the zip code is "incorrect." The zip code is correct; the error is on your side.

@CaptainHoagiePA @BenjaminSolak It’s perfectly simple: when Dak has a good game, it’s because he’s a great player. When he has a bad game, it’s because his coaches failed him. Applies to every situation.

Sports media can be a tough job. There is so much to follow and so many good analysts. It’s easy to feel like a poser. And then I remember that Mike McCarthy told the Cowboys he watched every play from the entire NFL season, got the job, and said “lmao I didn’t do that.”

@BenjaminSolak Classic scapegoat firing - throw the coordinator under the bus in the hopes of saving your own job. Offensive coordinators don’t fumble, throw interceptions, or leave 12 defensive players on the field in a critical situation, so this will solve nothing.
