I am deeply saddened by the passing of Mathew McCollough, Director of @ODRDC. As a fierce advocate for and recognized champion of people with disabilities, he believed legal compliance is the minimum—not maximum— standard for accessibility.

Tzedek DC submitted comments to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security opposing a proposed rule that would allow DHS officers to consider whatever they want—including credit history or receipt of Medicaid—in deciding whether an immigrant is, or is likely to be, a “public charge.” This not-so-thinly-veiled attempt to create widespread confusion and fear for immigrants cannot stand.
