also, this needs saying. if you are using this Kanye / Wireless situation as a way to prop up Reform or Nigel Farage because of their ‘free speech’ views, you’re disgusting and incredibly stupid. they’re parasites.

You reap what you sow. Kanye’s apology was timed and disingenuous. You can’t put a band-aid on a bullet hole.

#OnThisDay Birmingham gains 3 new railway stations: Moseley Village (originally Moseley), Kings Heath, and Pineapple Road (originally Hazelwell): all closed January 1941. Here's an updated version of my Birmingham & West Midlands atlas buff.ly/I7JoJkc @crecyrail

Fuck the Home Office, see how quick it can make decisions, yet we have windrush elders who have died who have yet to receive a penny of compensation from the windrush scandal.

Wireless has just cancelled itself because Kanye is banned… Meanwhile, there’s a whole UK music scene here to make it a success. Shambles blud.

My position on Kanye is whilst I think he was and is very mentally ill, he went way too far and has yet to sufficiently make amends or take accountability. With that said, the whole furore is exposing the hypocrisy and hierarchising of whose pain matters.

The US military has 22 sites in the UK. Every day long range US bombers are taking off here to drop bombs on Iran. This is a rogue state carrying out war crimes, and threatening more. The UK Government must grow a spine - and stop our bases being used for this war.
Department of State@StateDept

🚨 PRESIDENT TRUMP: Iran has until tomorrow at 8 o’clock to make a deal. After that, they’re going to have no power plants or bridges.

Disappointed that the planned series of gigs never happened for the new stations. Would have been great to see Jaykae at Moseley, Duran Duran at Kings Heath, and Napalm Death at Pineapple Road

Yet another fortuitous post positioning by the 𝕏 algorithm. Wes Streeting touring the studios telling us that it's disgusting that Kanye is performing in London [it is] and the news that the government has already granted his visa. @PolitlcsUK

🚨 BREAKING: Wireless Festival will keep Kanye West as its headliner Melvin Benn, the Managing Director of Festival Republic, said: "I am a deeply committed anti-fascist and have been all my adult life. I lived on a kibbutz for many months in the 1970’s that was attacked on October 7th, am pro Jew and the Jewish state, while being equally committed to a Palestinian state.  "Having had a person in my life for the last 15 years who suffers from mental illness, I have witnessed many episodes of despicable behaviour that I have had to forgive and move on from. If I wasn’t before, I have become a person of forgiveness and hope in all aspects of my life, including work. "What Ye has said in the past about Jews and Hitler is as abhorrent to me as it is to the Jewish community, the Prime Minister and others that have commented and - taking him at his word - to Ye now also.  "Ye’s music is played on commercial radio stations in this country. It is available via live streams and downloads in this country without comment or vitriol from anyone and he has a legal right to come into the country and to perform in this country. He is intended to come in and perform. We are not giving him a platform to extol opinion of whatever nature, only to perform the songs that are currently played on the radio stations in our country and the streaming platforms in our country and listened to and enjoyed by millions.  "Forgiveness and giving people a second chance are becoming a lost virtue in this ever-increasing divisive world and I would ask people to reflect on their instant comments of disgust at the likelihood of him performing (as was mine) and offer some forgiveness and hope to him as I have decided to do"
