@system76 Linux allows you to have control of what goes on your system. Most other operating systems have bloat you cannot remove and privacy concerns that come preinstalled on your OS.

If you could give a new Linux user one piece of advice that would convince them to use it forever, what would it be?

@system76 You don't have to pay license fees to activate most distros of Linux. Majority of open source software on Linux is free and will do the job as well or almost as well.

@system76 Pick a user friendly distro and stick with it for awhile. Keep distro hopping to a minimum and focus on learning Linux in general instead.

@jarredsumner This is so underrated, UUIDv7 fixes the collision problems that UUIDv4. Thanks for doing this!

In the next version of Bun `Bun.randomUUIDv7()` returns UUID v7, which is a sorting & database-friendly UUID

I really like Astro's approach if you need SSR add the node adapter and whatever frontend you need. We'll be delving deeper into using Astro(Bun+React | Vue | Svelte) and Echo(Go) for websites and see how that works out. For apps using a small SPA+Echo(Go).

JS/TS moves too fast, it's convenient at first, but with breaking changes popping up all the time it's better to limit to just the JS/TS frontend and if you need a JS/TS backend to as small a surface as possible... then doing everything else in another language.

@t3dotgg Honestly, for the best out of the box desktop experience... it's really hard to beat Pop!_OS / @system76 . I personally don't waste time fiddling or customizing everything.

@t3dotgg It's definitely not a skill issue, it happens! What is important is how the community responds/assists when people ask for help with it.

A lot of people are saying this is a skill issue. My fault for choosing AMD, also my fault for not recognizing this was a driver issue. Except this wasn’t a driver issue. It was caused by my ubuntu-desktop install being corrupted, likely by fuse. Why would reinstalling my DWM fix that?

@t3dotgg I have a 13 with AMD It works fine using Pop!_OS, no idea what people are talking about.
