1/2 I gave my blood samples at MedPlus on 24 May between 8–9 AM for multiple tests. All reports were delivered except one test — Cystatin-C — which had a promised TAT of 24 hours, meaning it should have been ready by 25 May 9 AM @MedPlusIndia @MedPlus101

I stopped doing any tests with them after that even though I had the whole year's subscription available to me. At the end of the year, their rep called me to get the subscription renewed. i had one of the most absurd experiences yesterday at dr. lal path labs is the most trusted diagnostic lab in india is scamming people who walk into their stores? went to their physical store for blood tests and they quoted me ₹4,600 for a test. so i checked their website for the same test and it was for ₹2,400. i asked why the price is different. they said location-based pricing. i said show me where that's written. they couldn't but just kept insisting that's how it works here. so right there, standing inside their store, i opened their app. booked the same test. selected home collection. total came to ₹2,400. clicked confirm. within minutes, someone from dr. lal path labs showed up outside their own physical store. took my sample. done. apparently there are 3 franchise in same city. the girl at the counter told me home collection doesn't work in this city. i literally proved her wrong while standing in front of her. now here's what really bothers me. most people who walk into that store don't have the time or awareness to cross-check online pricing. they trust the person at the counter. they assume the quote is correct and they pay double without knowing. this isn't some small difference. it's ₹2,200 extra. for the exact same service from the same company and same test. either the staff has no idea what services their own company offers, or they're incentivized to push higher in-store rates. either way, it's a scam-level practice. i don't know how widespread this is but if this is happening at one store, it's probably happening at others.
