@woye1 I think it should be open to the citizens to select the candidate of their choice, Before the election proper, Let it be indirect, That direct is not fair to others, Electronic voting will be good.

Direct Primary: National Assembly should sustain this process again and again. 2: It allows voters to connect with their leaders as well as passing a strong message to the leaders. 3: indirect delegates are not happy at all. 4: fine tuning the process via ICT.

@woye1 With time it will get better, but if President Tinubu is not in power and it was former PDP leadership what you will see is kiosk and Area boys hijacking the process. The President is rendering quality leadership to his party and at the same time overseeing Nigeria affairs. 👌

When millions of party members can decide candidates directly, godfather politics begins to collapse in real time.The National Assembly should not only sustain it. they should strengthen it with transparent ICT systems, biometric verification, and real-time result publishing.Let delegates cry if they want. Democracy was never designed for a few hotel-room negotiators. It was designed for the people.

Direct primary election has returned power to the grassroot. Nonetheless the infractions, I thought it was a beautiful process. It can always be improved on. APC should be able to digitize the primary election process.
