We lost my father to COVID on 12/28. His estate is due disaster relief from @fema. But we can't apply b/c his death certificate does not list COVID as a cause of death. Thank you to @tarasbernard & @nytimes for covering his (and others’) story. 1/

Got an email from kid’s school. 3 other moms and I *think* the kid goes to school tomorrow… but really… no idea. Can we at least have clear contact tracing emails!!!!???? PLEASE!!! And this might be me giving up for awhile.

Struggling into the first faculty meeting of the new year, and our Dean, @AMooreMcBride, charges us with… “doing the bare minimum and finding things that give us joy” to get through these times. I feel so seen. Systems can prioritize wellness over productivity when they want to.

Whenever there is a policy proposed to help children, there's a knee-jerk discussion of what kind of employment effect it will have on parents.
You might think that's a reasonable question, but it's one that often lacks perspective or any sense of proportion.
