This is really hard to write but so many of you have loved and cared about Ben that I wanted to let you know. We found out today the cancer had spread throughout Bens organs and there was nothing left we could do-we had to let him go. I’ve had dogs my whole life but Ben was 1 on 1. He was smart-loving-gentle-patient-inquisitive-and welcoming to all. Always a big smile and a soft tail wag. He and I could communicate..he and I understood each other and had each others backs. He was with me more than anyone at home and traveling with me for work. Such an easy going companion. Hard day-but he will live within all of us forever. God please bless his majestic soul and thank you for putting him in my life for the last 10 years-a true blessing. Love you Ben. 🙏🏼

@Genetics56 They need a home for all of their teams. Stanford is not Harvard w/r/t athletics and very, very few current Big10 teams have Stanfords sports legacy.

Just a random 0.02 rant. I don't like the "will join for no money requested." Stanford is one of the world's most respected research and academic institutions in the world. They, like Harvard and other Ivy schools did decades ago, need to decide if they want to compete in the new world of college football or not? If not, drop the sport and move on. As it stands right now, Stanford wants to play the sport for the sake of playing it while doing nothing to compete at the highest level of the sport. 1: They are willing to take no media payout for however many years 2: They don't participate that much in the transporter portal for additions 3: They are always against paying athletes, don't want them to be employees, and more. 4: They don't market their football brand on a national level or even locally 5: They don't sell out football games Do you want to compete or not?

@Genetics56 Stanford has more sports titles then any other school and the margin is not even close. They have historically been better in football then 2/3 or more of the teams in the current Big 10. They did participate in the portal this year

@CFTV @Genetics56 Plus ESPN needs lots of sports beyond football to fill programming. Take woman’s basketball for instance. As good as Catlin Clark is - Stanford increases prestige dramatically in this and other sports that form the core of ESPN programming for half the year.

When I was told about ESPN + Big Ten yesterday, ESPN would end up buying the 4th TV window. That shouldn't surprise anyone. We will see what happens as time passes. The quality of games that ESPN would get their hands on though would not be that good since the legacy networks (CBS, NBC, FOX) would get access to those games first depending on the order of selection/week. Thus, ESPN isn't technically going to buy an OR vs USC game. That game could go to CBS or NBC first. Essentially it would be about the 4th game or lower on the value tier.

Favorite part of realignment? I still have yet to see a single Cal or Stanford fan/graduate tweet about realignment. They legitimately DO NOT care about football. sad..
