Just now getting back to cell service (tough scene!): -First tee environment this morning was more similar to Whistling Straits than it was Hazeltine. Not sure how they can't figure that one out. -The crowd on the rest of the course was loud for the few good moments the US had, but seemed to be more into jeering the Europeans than they were rallying the Americans. But if there's a comeback, it's going to get loud very quickly. -Walked the whole way with the first match. The vibes were totally fine between the controversial duo of Bryson and JT, but JT was #notgood and needs to rally this afternoon to make up for it. Both the iron play and the putter cost them badly and is the difference in the score at the moment. -The most optimistic take you could have on the Morikawa/English pairing is that it didn't really matter what you threw out there against what Rory and Fitz did. So hey, might as well throw out the worst pairing you possibly could! (*Bane voice*) "They expect one of us in the wreckage brother!" -Scottie's carrying a lot on his shoulders, and Henley was obviously shook... but Scottie was still negative strokes gained on his own shots and clearly not The Dude we watched all year long. Need him to run off six birdies this afternoon. (Not sending him off the odds was very silly.) -This is not over (or so I'm telling myself.) The U.S. can easily win fourballs this afternoon and probably should. If not, tonight's show should be *especially* fun.
